Would be nice if we had 2 or more options for sending people to space. Would suck if we got out from under Russia's boot just to get stuck under Elon's whims.

Yes. I’m a big fan of SpaceX, but I only feel sadness at this Starliner debacle.

We really, really need competition in the important things.

Or the approach of a well-funded NASA where they over engineer everything. Not that their track record was perfect, but it’s certainly a better approach than the race to the bottom that business competition brings.
