Lmfao trump ain't no hero. Getting shot at doesn't instantly make you a better person. He was a piece of shit before getting shot at and I'm sure he'll act more of a piece of shit after.

He isn't a hero in the literal sense, but he is the person who "people are trying to silence", and who is "fighting the good fight", so people will see him as the hero they need to save the US and this attack legitimised his victimising persona

Normally we can never get the guy to shut up, two full days of silence when he can milk the publicity of this is baffling.
