Can someone explain the use for this?

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's used for HPLC analysis, where a lot of ports are needed to connect all the little tentacles of the machine

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

Yep. But the cheaper alternative is a regular bottle with one cap that has multiple ports for the tubes.

Probably chemestry, for mutiple attachments.

HPLC is High Performance Liquid Chromatography, a chemistry method that's used to analyze chemicals. Don't know why they would need this thing though

So ..... either attach a tube to direct the flow ... or just place the bottle at the right angle and just free base it?

Scientists invent new cost-cutting measures for Amazon drivers. Sharing is caring.

I love how "improv" hplc bottles always look. I'm pretty sure this is a 200 euro piece of glassware, but it looks like 20 bucks.

This would be a great dog toy. Put a hole in one of the caps (a treat-sized hole) and stick a rod hrizontally through the bottle, so that it can spin around it's axis. Than fill it with treats and your dog will be entertaint for hours.

Except that its glass, that might be an issue.

Poor doggo :(

My lab used bottle caps with four holes in them for mobile phase intake. I've never seen a single bottle used for more than a couple HPLCs, but I suppose there are niche use cases out there.
