Same reason why Biden got so much work done on his face. They get elected mostly on outward appearance and first impressions. Rarely do you find a politician that's not conventionally attractive / was in the past.

Well, you can compare photos from years ago. There is also a youtube channel by a plastic surgeon who went over the signs of plastic surgery on his face. Time just makes all of us ugly.
