mahn has there ever been a good sequel to a cult classic? i dont think so. this sounds terrible.
Wayne’s world 2
True, but that wasn't made 30 years later. The era and age in which Sandler's material worked is long gone.
While true, there's very very few that were good when made decades after the last one.
you found one!!
Blade Runner
Planet of the apes, kinda. On the second try at least.
Mad Max.
Alien / Aliens
Unbreakable / Split (but not Glass!)
If we're counting Alien as a cult classic, then The Terminator / Terminator 2 as well. The first is a horror movie about a waitress trapped in a time loop that ends with the apocalypse. The second is a transhumanist masterpiece where she's a psycho guerilla ready to fight god.
Clerks 2
I feel like I’m the only person who loved Clerks and did not enjoy Clerks 2 at all
EMPIRE ?
Dante Hicks: "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings.
His movies are a light form of fraud. He takes the studio's money to go on vacation with his friends, and they phone in a few scenes a day and go to the beach
Who was the original comment talking about?
Austin Powers, depending on how you classify the original. Not belated - just a big jump from a minor oddity to a massive sequel.
