I think most people on Mastodon are over 30

Yeah the washing machine app is for the public laundromat. I tried it on GrapheneOS with everything enabled but it was lacking something that is only on stock Google Android. I haven't tried it on a MicroG phone yet.

I have friends who care about privacy but they need phones that can do Uber and washing machine apps. So I'm the only one i know with a private FOSS phone.

Hi, I want to make memes but I want to use those funny characters for example in Linux memes. They are the ones where it looks like someone drew them by hand. Is there a website where I can find and download them? Thanks in advance

I'm on Debian 12 KDE and i need to update the clock to Arizona time but it's not available.

Honestly, it won't even let me change it to California time. After entering my password it denies my request.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Edit Neither my user or root password works for this

"They want your signature!"

I want to have a dual-boot laptop where half is Windows and half is Debian. If i encrypt Debian during installation, will it break Windows? I just want to be safe. Thanks in advance

For example, if:

  1. I'm on a tracking website like Linkedin
  2. I log out and close the browser
  3. I turn on the vpn and open the same browser
  4. I create a Spotify account

Is it possible that Spotify will give me targeted ads based on my home IP due to the cookies?

Thanks in advance

I installed Windows 11 in Virtual Box in case I need it for school but it keeps crashing. My laptop is 12gb RAM and I gave the VM 8gb RAM.

If I upgrade my laptop RAM to maybe 16gb and give the VM 12gb RAM would that help? Thanks I'm a newb

I don't have Facebook or anything Meta.

But what can or will happen to people who let Meta train its AI with their data, selfies, locations, and behavior patterns etc? Thanks in advance

I have an extra laptop with 8gb or ram that I want to turn into my Nextcloud server.

The steps that I think I need to take:

  1. Learn how to set up a server on a laptop.
  2. Learn how to install Nextcloud software on the server.

But I'm confused because I came across a video where someone set up Nexcloud right on their Windows laptop. Does that mean I can do that on my Ubuntu laptop?

Before you comment, please know that I'm not complaining. Someone asked this in Mastodon and it's a good question because if you don't block Threads dot net, then you can look people up and follow them and vice versa.

In my home feed I see posts from other Mastodon servers but not from Threads. Why is that? Thanks in advance

Edit There are no Threads dot net posts in my Global feed either. And I haven't blocked Threads either.

I'd like to never boot into Windows again. I have VirtualBox installed where I can install Windows 11 if I need to but is there anything that it(Windows on a VM) wouldn't be able to do like accessing hardware devices? Thanks in advance

I'm aware that it used to be owned by an ad company System1. But I found this post by the founder where he said that it's now an independent project.

My primary OS is Windows (I use it for work) and I have Linux as my second OS. If I upgrade my linux distro to the paid version so I can have more features, will Windows be okay? Thanks I'm a newb
