Well, the feature doesn't exist yet, so I can't answer your first question :) as for the second, history / chaining can be fetched, for example, lets say you receive a comment, and the parent commenter is from another instance. Or someone from a third instance comments on a post of a community you’re subscribed to. As long as that parent commenter is from an instance thats allowed (IE in the allowlist or open federation), it will pull it. Meaning the technology is already being used today, but hasn't yet been implemented for this particular feature.
stinky
Are you resting because you want to know, or are you asking because you don't think it's possible?

With Facebook and x.com you pretty much understand the risks going in.
But with stack overflow there's so much naivete required to create an account and begin asking questions. The good stuff is laid out right in front of you: people asking similar questions and getting thoughtful responses to deeply technical questions. It feels rewarding to get your first answer approved.
But then after months of "trying" you hit the wall. A sudden deluge of hostility and toxicity. Bipolar moderation staff suddenly deciding your content has no value and dumping you on a curb at night with a shitty smug comment, to the applause of bloodthirsty hoards of bootlicking trolls.
Nothing could have prepared you for this. It's hell. All of your work for nothing, any chance of justice or restitution gone. Every promise broken.
It's insidiously evil and I hope every member of their staff (unpaid moderators included) goes bankrupt and loses their home to foreclosure.
You fight dirty
Had to delete my comment because I assumed that it was a typo, but it is possible that they had two mothers who both picked up the phone at the same time
Thanks, this feels like a missing feature to me. The ability to scan for communities that are unknown to my instance while logged into it should be included with federation but I'm happy with the outside resources until that gets fixed
Good answer, thanks. I was asking themoonisacheese about what they said because they mentioned that the comment wouldn't be visible anymore, that's why I needed more information. But I appreciate you supplying it for them.
I get dogpiled anytime I suggest abolition. Americans will rabidly defend their existing systems, even if they are oppressed by them. It's difficult sometimes to be vocal about it, so I wanted to extend some appreciation for doing what you do
landlines were shared within a single household - you could pick up the phone on the headset upstairs, and someone in the kitchen downstairs would already be talking to someone. you'd have to apologize and hang up quickly because you just intruded on their conversation. thus, two people could pick up the phone at the same time. Frankly I think that's giving AngryMan too much credit, I'm convinced they're just an idiot who doesn't review before they post.
