I love it. It's beautiful. Any time of year. I want to wake up with it in my urethra.

Every one of those people has fumbled a word too. None of them has the right to judge you.

did you hear about the lemmy user that lost his left side? he's all right

[–] [email protected] -4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

pewpew doesn't have to justify a personal preference, as its validity doesn’t depend on external proof. do you feel like you need to explain all of your preferences to people? then pewpew doesn't either. :)

Making noise.

Three decapitated but living people had to be put into a freezer. Cryostasis maybe. I was in agony, they are going to be so cold, the metal will burn them where it touches their skin, their eyes will freeze, should I get goggles? I realized my worrying was just delaying everything and making it worse for them. I had to somehow just get it done

General question about Lemmy:

If I as an instance owner search & subscribe to another instance's community, I get "federated" with that community. Does that mean my instance is, or my user is?

Second question:

If I want users at my instance to see posts from communities on other instances, is there a way for me to pull those posts in to my instance? Or, how do I get my users to see other communities' content?

I created my instance after getting tired of Reddit.

It's just me for now. I'm hosted on Elestio, running in Docker, goal is to curate info and relationships with good people. Let me know if you need any more info, please.

Canned bread is made by pouring a cornmeal and molasses "batter" into a can, where it is "steamed until it rises." Unlike bread that is baked and then bagged, which can leave it vulnerable to mold growth, the steaming and canning process helps to ensure that your can of brown bread lasts.

What's the process? Is the list federated, meaning, does my joining this list populate available instances across the fediverse? Or is it isolated to join - Lemmy?

If the moderators of that other community lock your thread and prevent you from getting the support you need, you can come here.

Sorry this isn't really a question

She doesn't listen when i tell her how i want to be treated. I don't owe her an explanation about why it hurts. It should be enough to say "this hurts me". She never, ever changes her behavior no matter what i say. It's always my fault when i get hurt.

Last night I was a character in a dwarf fortress game? I collected ambergris and travelled on a cart through a festival. I made a joke of our combat logs and wrote a line into it, my singing axe turned an enemy into an axe sheath. Earlier I [c]laimed a bunch of tiles from an abandoned fort and they started flickering as they rendered to the screen

Where is the favicon - is there any documentation around changing it?

I'm not talking about the instance icon, I mean the favicon (svg or ico? png?) which appears in your bookmarks if you bookmark a site.

I'm running in docker

Please let me know what information you need to understand my situation? or if there's anything I can do to help?

Can someone please create one of these without all the AI noise?

I get furious when people use my addiction as an excuse to do something. "I had to take the keys away from you, or you might go out and get messed up!" or "I was worried you were going to relapse so I called these people to prevent you from going to that place." etc. In general, these people violate my boundaries and take no accountability for it, saying instead that it's my fault for being an addict. "Well if you don't like us doing that to you, then don't use!" It feels so abusive.

If I didn't ask you to help me, you don't get to use my addiction as an excuse to do anything.

I didn't ask you to take the keys away, so that was your choice, and you are responsible for the pain it caused.

I didn't ask you to call my friends and have them stop me from using, so that was your choice, and you are responsible for the pain it caused.

If it isn't consensual it isn't help, it's abuse.

In this classic game theory experiment, you must decide: rat out another for personal benefit, or cooperate? The answer may be more complicated than you think.
