Honestly they won’t all ripen at the same time. You’ll need to check and pick every day or two. Shelled peas freeze well, but I dunno about whole beans.

It’s strange how all these political weirdos have bizarre hairdos. Do Trump, Ford, and Boris all go to the same barber?

The TV Dinner that gave us Tucker Carlson.

“In 1979, Carlson's father married Patricia Caroline Swanson, an heiress to Swanson Enterprises, daughter of Gilbert Carl Swanson and niece of Senator J. William Fulbright. Though Patricia remained a beneficiary of the family fortune, the Swansons had sold the brand to the Campbell Soup Company in 1955 and did not own it by the time of Carlson's father's marriage.” — Wikipedia

If they would decentralize these battery installations and put a battery plant in each neighborhood, it would help with storm-related blackouts.

Keep in mind that matching the headline and pasting a link is often a real drag when posting from some mobile apps:

  • open article in browser app
  • copy article title
  • switch to Lemmy app
  • create new post
  • paste headline
  • switch back to browser app
  • switch back to Lemmy app
  • paste link
  • tap post

There’s a fifty fifty chance that when you switch back to the Lemmy mobile app, the OS will have “flushed” the current app state to save memory and you’ll be back at the main feed having lost your post. Depends on the app, device, how long you took to switch back, and amount of available memory.

Nixon was a paranoid weirdo.

Lithium AA (like Duracell and Energizer) you buy at the drug store aren’t the same as lithium ion rechargeable batteries you find in computers and automobiles.

“When alkaline, NiMH and even lithium AA batteries rupture, the force and heat of the explosion isn’t anywhere near that of, say, an explosive li-ion failure”

They often get thrown in the garbage instead of being recycled. They can catch fire when punctured. Not something I would want near a small child when a NiMH would do just as well.

I hope it’s not lithium ion. Seems like that would be overkill for a stuffed animal.

Because of Texas’ messed up “Robin Hood” school funding, a chunk of that increase would go to the state, not to Austin ISD.

I don’t get the “loony” part of the headline.

Getting rid of the gas tax and switching to a mileage tax that factors in vehicle weight would help with this. If it costs you more every year to drive a bigger, heavier car, you’re going to want something smaller.

Would be great to see something like this trialed in Austin.

Not that I should be surprised, but trying to watch it today and it’s just talk talk talk talk. Commercials. More talk. Overhead shots of the stadium. People walking around in the rain. Talking head. Cut away to footage of Carl Lewis bitching about something. Instant replay of something they already showed. People hugging. Stadium shot. Human interest story. Commercial. Shot of Eiffel Tower. Promo for actual sports being shown on Peacock. Etc etc.

Meanwhile you can see there’s sporting events going on because they are showing them on the Jumbotron in the stadium shots. Really no excuse for this since most of this coverage is pre-recorded anyway.

Evidently screwing customers twice by making them watch ads for the same price they used to get ad-free has been profitable. Let the enshitification continue!

In other news, their ad sales VP left this week for some reason.

Sounds pathetic. I wonder how many product managers have been in charge of Apple News since it started?
