Jesus christ. If ever there was a contribution to political debate this cultered on reddit it was drowned out I never saw it. Beautifully put

Sounds interesting. Worth a try at least!

So OPR has fixed unit sizes too right? I mean I'm all for simpler versions of the game existing too, I just think we should have the option. Also I know each to their own, of course I can keep playing 9th or house rule it or whatever if I care that much and can find one other person that cares too.

If you care to share how easy have you found it to find games and do you ever feel like you're missing out on anything playing OPR instead. I admit I can see the appeal of getting off the GW rule carousel.

That community has no contributors yet either. I think there just aren't the numbers yet to get little regional chats going.

That's definitely some of it. But backs can get better (or at least more prominent) through their careers. Thinking Marlon mack, pretty much every 9er RB, even Henry. Reading through the list of older RBs is a shocking list of former greats though. So many who used to be stars and now can't do more than bit parts.

But also replaceability. It's so easy to find running backs who can be effective cheaply either in the draft or free agency. The latter is self perpetuating and related to the above, teams shipping out good older guys because they don't want to commit to long deals with older guys. I suspect the former has to do with how many of the best athletes play RB at lower levels so lots of pro guys know how to do it.

Then there's positional value: the importance of running has diminished and you only need 1RB on the field compared to say 3WR typically or 5 oline.

Yeah it would be super easy to add points for certain obviously unbalanced options (such as those that are take x or nothing). It's almost like they've deliberately designed it so they can make that sort of change. Fingers crossed.

I find the game less fun if the lists are less unique. You're pretty much stuck with generic unit X from detachment Y now, unless you want to be deliberately worse than your opponent. I guess I can just play narratively, but I still prefer trying to win even in a narrative setting.

Well fuck. Not a great look for the people sniffing at evenepoel's criticism of the stage design.

"off to be the wizard" takes the universe is a simulation trope and REALLY runs with it. I don't know if I'd call it good scifi though...

I remember being pretty impressed with "permutation city" for it's depiction of the consequences of being able to upload consciousness into machines.

Oh for sure above expectations. As I say, surprisingly good legs. He shot himself in the foot repeatedly when it came to potential stage wins though, and I suspect he would have traded both the blue jersey and his GC place for even just one stage win.

No my grandma makes the best LMP. Agree with colour on top of the meringue, under the grill to brown it up, yummy.

PFF calling Watson a potential breakout. Lol. He had what, 10tds last year. He's out already.
