Since it seems the Fediverse doesn't collect identical communities across instances, should we put a link to [email protected] or invite them/the mod over here to try and consolidate?

Definitely reach out to them. We have to make it easier for people to find communities. The search tool is bad but word of mouth can still get the job done.

That community has no contributors yet either. I think there just aren't the numbers yet to get little regional chats going.

Good idea!, I do not not really know what the etiquette is regarding mod perms but happy to hand them out like puppies

Honestly, I don't either. I never modded at reddit but am mod on three communities here and...um...don't know what I'm doing. For communities with similar interests I've reached out to their mods and just asked; other mods have done the same for (to?) me. I'd say send 'em a DM and see about putting a link in the sidebar - it will, at least, make the content quick to find.
