Now that crypto is a thing, every politician needs to be regularly audited by the IRS. If it's coming from some shady unknown in cypherspace, then we ought to assume bribery.

You're not wrong, but I'd want to see more prosecution of job posting lies at the same time. Employers frequently add impossible requirements so they can hire H1Bs instead.

"I was consulting."

It's true, I was giving out advice left and right.

But then nobody would have to sign up for a crony postal replacement.

Right now it's mostly unidirectional. There's a satellite constantly broadcasting the blockchain, and if you want to publish a transaction you need to get it back to civilization somehow. So isolated communities would need payment channels with really slow (weeks) settlements.

You can use Starlink too but yeah like you said that's not cheap or easy.

We still have to get the summons and show up in order to get out of jury duty.

Email would completely defeat the purpose; then people wouldn't read their spam!

I don't like the pattern of having to pay a search cost, then finally getting everything set up, and then they gradually enshittify until the process repeats. I'd rather just have stable infrastructure, like email.

But then it was just stupid, it wasn't a Nazi bar like today.

I come from the future!

Now you need a subscription to get mail, including jury summons. The subscription will be $100/mo but that's actually not too bad after the 2026 inflation. Despite paying for your subscription, there will be even more ads. Also they'll wrap your jury summons in a random ad each time. Damaging the electronics in your reusable box will result in a fee.

Oh I think he's definitely not guilty. I'm just not sure if he did it.
