I'm enough of a socdem that the hexbear types ban me at first sight when I comment in their communities, but I'm still of the opinion that everyone is entitled to have A home. Something that is reasonably sized given the location, and there may be compromises in location itself (not everyone is going to fit in Manhattan after all). So an apartment in NYC or a single family home in flyover states somewhere. This is just using the US as an example because it's so culturally dominant, I think everyone knows what NYC is like. Everyone should be able to live in a home that affords them basic human dignity.

Now rich people can still have their mansions or whatever, but they'll have to pay for the privilege. The rest of us, if content with the aforementioned social housing, wouldn't have to pay. There would still be premium developments. Premium apartments or houses to rent or buy. But there would be no more profiting off the working class's basic need for shelter.

Hey I like this idea. I want my own dog park!

This seems like a very American thing. I've never not received my food. No, the drivers aren't well paid here either.

The one time food did not arrive, it was driver error (similar buildings on one lot) and we contacted the service, got a new order for free (the old one would've been cold already)

You'd need an operating system that uses it. It's going to be at least as difficult as flashing a custom rom, but likely even more so, as there might not be a ready-made build. Definitely something to experiment with on a secondary phone. PostmarketOS is your best bet, here are others that support Plasma Mobile.

Income and viewers are the same egg. You can put up sponsor segments but they're no good if nobody is watching.

The founder of SimpleX unfortunately seems to be full MAGA. I don't want to touch that project with a 3 meter pole.

Matrix isn't doing too well either. Might be time to start a completely new project.

People who buy brand new cars tend to be older and probably are anticipating getting back or other mobility issues before they eventually sell the car. I think that could be a contributing factor.

That does sound like it would help.

I mean that's true but I don't think that's part of the chicken and egg cycle, as you can improve UX before getting users too

When those are gone, there's still Trump lol

It's a chicken and egg issue for sure, but I think you've got the wrong egg.

Nobody will create content on a platform with few viewers. Nobody will be a viewer on a platform with few content creators.

Yes. But it used to be free to watch remotely. It's 99% your own hardware doing everything. Their services get used for discovery, not as proxies for the connection itself, AFAIK.

You already had to pay them to allow transcoding with your own GPU, etc.

Right now it's still not too bad, but just watch, enshittification will affect paid users too. For one, I expect the lifetime pass to go away, and go away retroactively eventually.
