Ah, yes. The 6th elemental stone.

Been trying to find communities for running, but less about talking or sharing memes and more for making running friends in my area.

Anyone wanna run with me and my dog?

Very Onionesque.

Fo real tho, difficulty in some games is more of an add on than a core mechanic. FromSoft weave difficulty into the narrative of their games in a way that is just so deliciously painful. More please.

It's the opposite, you would appear frozen at the event horizon to any observer and if you were lucky enough to be facing away from the event horizon as you fell in you would see everything else speed up. And according to Crash Course you'd see ALL OF TIME pass. So that's cool.

Finding joy in the small things. The way my dog stretches, smiling at a stranger, smelling a flower, a nice cup of coffee, a smile from a stranger, etc. Making the time and going out of my way for these small moments of joy is important to me.

Very late to this thread! Curious to know why you prefer the Cetaphil moisturizer? G&G seems to have a good lineup of moisturizer options. Do you often mix and match brands?

Hmmmm what are your thoughts on this? I thought it was interesting and very opinionated. The authors are definitely clear on their stance. I'll admit, I skimmed bits and read others, but it felt more like this essay was comprised of things they just wanted to get off their chest and not a means to try and sway any detractors. Which maybe was the point, but it left me wanting.

Sorry, I'm not trying to make a factual argument. You are 100% accurate, if I actually came across a bear I would probably be killed. It's a thought experiment, think along the lines of Schrodeinger's cat. It's an unknowable quantity: is this man going to hurt me, is he going to be nice? Is this bear going to maul me, is this bear going to ignore me? Point being, when some people see an unknown male I can understand why some would react as if they came across a large predator in the woods. All hypothetical, but again it's a social commentary about the deep-seated fear of males. Which is sad.

I'll talk more about this through dms if you'd like.

Really? I don't think it's reinforcing the patriarchy. I think it's pretty funny, a satirical commentary on the unfortunate truth that most people don't feel safe around males. Like, bruh, I'm a dude, but I'd rather see a bear than another man if I was on a solo backpacking trip.

Hey! Unsure if this is a thing, but are there any useful sites or apps that can predict the current snow conditions on trails? Specifically looking for info on hikes in the PNW.

I have so much....

Basically looking for a Lemmy version of craigslist.

Hey all! I am still mourning the completion of Elden Ring and have been falling back on Nioh 2 for some hurt-me-so-good gameplay.

Just heard of Hellpoint. I was super stoked for a minute, then saw that the PS4 version was pretty meh with lots of bugs. Haven't seen much news on the PS5 version.

Would love other recs in these trying times. Coop is always a bonus.
