exactly, my voter registration was purged and I had to re-register this year.

there's been election interference going on by Republicans for decades and this time they stole voting software specifically used in the presidential election, there are good reasons why we should do manual ballot counts.

[–] Varyk 2 points 2 months ago

awesome, thank you, it does make a difference.

a manual recount seems in order and not a huge ask.

[–] Varyk 9 points 2 months ago (21 children)

you are either being disingenuous or wildly uninformed.

Iit's okay if you don't like that one scientist. because there are dozens of other computer security experts who have come to the same conclusion, that since Trump's lawyers admitted to hiring people to steal voting software used by 90% of voters in swing states, manual recounts should be implemented.

The Republicans have zero evidence of election interference.

democrats have straight up factual evidence of ballot, interference and electoral fraud.

do you know about how W won the 2004 election?

do you know about the fake elector scheme 4 years ago?

have you ever heard of gerrymandering?

voter poll purging?

Republican ballot interference has happened every election for decades, and it looks like it happened on a wider scale this time.

I feel like I read a new article with Apple IDs being leaked every year.

looks like there there have been six major apple data leaks since the 2014 incident you're talking about, so a major leak based on exploits every year and a half, and then there's also all the individual articles that pop up with someone saying they received notification that they're iCloud data or Apple ID was leaked, which I don't know the frequency of but I see all the time.

https://firewalltimes.com/apple-data-breach-timeline

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254140360?sortBy=rank

seems to happen fairly often.

I mean the voting software stolen is undeniably true, since they admitted doing it themselves and there's evidence of Trump's lawyers hiring people to steal the voting software.

nothing might come of it, but I still talk about how W stole his election because his brother was the governor of florida and stopped ballot counting in that state, so if this election was stolen, we might as well have indisputable proof like we have of Florida in 2004.

[–] Varyk 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

If you don't like that guy, you you can look to all the other security experts that are calling for a manual recount.

incidentally, spoonamore isn't known for making that claim every election, he's made it twice, The other time was in 2004 when ballot interference occurred.

[–] Varyk 0 points 2 months ago

you can go read the other three people, they literally agreed with me.

you're the only one pretending that the fake electors scheme didn't happen and that manipulating voting software is impossible if you have the voting software for 3 years.

"I don't think it's plausible "

you didn't even understand how software manipulation worked until I explained it to you in ice cream.

I'm going to believe all of the computer scientists brave enough to write an open letter saying that software based voting manipulation is plausible.

"I'll take my own advice and not waste any more time"

I remember you telling me you weren't going to talk to me anymore a dozen comments back.

"stupid conspiracy theories of your useless elections. I'd suggest you'd do the same, sugarplum."

there are conspiracy theories and conspiracy facts, Jack.

[–] Varyk -1 points 2 months ago

have fun believing facts aren't real.

actually must be pretty fun.

[–] Varyk 0 points 2 months ago

what are you talking about?

you called me sugar.

you are implying that you get to police what gender people find acceptable?

besides, I literally said those are the facts Jack.

which is a very common phrase and Jack isn't even a gendered name.

Why are you assigning gender to it?

"You're closer to Trump's ideology than I am"

Trump is obsessed with gender.

I'm not.

you seem obsessed with gender.

so who's closer to trump?

[–] Varyk -2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

"I really just don't want to sit and argue with you."

... so you proceed to write a treatise?

"You can call that rabbit-hole diving or tangential if you want. I call it critical thinking."

that should make you feel better, and accurate though and maybe.

We have nine computer scientists talking about facts.

One of which goes one step further.

you think that maybe he is wrong.

based on you thinking that maybe he is wrong.

fine. maybe he is.

doesn't change anything about the other eight scientists linked or any of the relevant facts.

"probably at too much length at this point."

definitely, with some unnecessary redundancy.

"I'm not interested in an extended argument "

yeah, I can tell by all your rehashed arguments that you're not interested in arguing.

thanks for those.

go ahead and call me sugar, Jack.

Why is Jack used in a common phrase a gendered name to you?

do you get angry if people say "guys" to a mixed group?

your concerns seem unnecessarily exhausting. for you.

Definitely looks like Marco is morphing a sports bra.

Anyway, David shows up, seems like bad news, and it turns out he is bad news.

Other than Marco seeing David with the box, I remember little about this book, I thought the whole David saga lasted two books, not three.

They really should have had some kind of dark shadow in the background of these three covers to show the looming threat.

This was one of the first times I was invested enough in a book where the departure of a member of a group really shocked me.

There were a lot of shocks in this book for me, and with my frustration with Cassie as a hippie getting in the way of the animorphs defeating the evil aliens on my first read through versus my appreciation for Cassie as a primary reason the rest of them weren't dead after the first few missions and an example of the strength and relevance of empathy in every situation, I was pretty horrified

spoiler

When? Cassie ripped out that hork-bajir's throat. And when she decided to leave the animorphs, that made perfect sense to me.

She had committed a brutal act that went so far beyond her personal boundaries that she couldn't be part of the group anymore.

That took me a while to come to terms with.

And then things get really terrifying when Cassie makes friends with a yeerk and makes a series of decisions that viscerally upset me to this day.

I want to hear your first hand experiences, and your reasonings behind liking or not liking the two sequels.

I'm asking this question because it's come up many times over the years, I've literally never met anybody else who like the second or third matrix movies, but don't think I've ever heard any argument against either movie that isn't "the dancing scene is dumb", "the architect is confusing" or " it's not as good as the first matrix".

And none of those are expanded upon, it's a short statement like that. And then you're supposed to understand that because of the dancing or because the architects monologue was confusing, the other four hours of film should be disregarded.

Based on one or more of those brief barbs, everyone I've ever talked to virulently hates and disregards the sequels.

I liked reloaded and revolutions when they came out in the theater and I still like all three movies today.

I liked the fourth one also, but I've only seen it once and that might be because my expectations were so low(no fishburne?). A second screening is in order.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

I'm curious if there is another person who actually likes the sequels or if you don't like the sequels, is there a reason outside of culturally unpopular 5 minute scenes ruining the entire rest of both movies for you?

I actually only recognize the howler, and I'm guessing that the hammerhead on skis is from the Arctic episode. But I think of that andalite bird when I see that weird green creature. I don't know what the purple one is supposed to be, do you guys know?

So the dog. Opening scene. If it's just looking to infect everyone it possibly can, it doesn't make a lot of sense for it to turn around and stare at the pursuing helicopter.

Are there prevailing fan theories about the reason that the dog, presumably the surviving thing, stopped and looked back at the pursuing helicopter?

by shoomlah via DA

Looks like everyone got banged up and is recuperating after a battle.

Is there a particular scene where Rachel gets a bloody nose as a human?

Sherman: Your methods pretty scientific lady

Anne: studied urine biology before I met Steve

The movie is way more fun than I was worried about, it was James Cameron's directorial debut.

It's very dumb, but the enjoyable kind.

Hit me right away, but face close-up in the comments

My views have radically changed since I first read the books about when they were coming out, and my rereads a decade or two later.

I'm pretty sure Marco used to be my favorite character because I was the class clown but was not the dullest light bulb, so I instantly identified with his humor, strategy and pragmatism.

There were definitely points in the series where I thought that I identified with other characters more, but I know that Marco was my constant since he was always cracking jokes to make sure the team wasn't overstressed while at the same time having the master plan in mind at all times.

Cassie used to be my least favorite, although I admired her skill in morphing. Her hesitation in making decisions that harmed the yeerks often bothered me and I could recognize the advantages of having Rachel on your team for power or ax for technology or Marco for strategy, but when I first read the books I didn't realize what Cassie brought to the team.

This was because as a child I had morals and assumed without evidence that everybody else did also, so I didn't realize how important Cassie's were.

Rereading the books as an adult, two of Cassie's books became some of my favorite adventures and the depth with which she is forced to examine her own beliefs and crucially change her beliefs to adapt to her new reality as a child soldier was pretty fascinating, since I didn't recall such a depth of emotion and moral ambiguity with her books previously.

Now I can recognize and appreciate how important it is to have someone who can question how just an action is regardless of the righteousness.

Without Cassie, the team would have been far more vicious and all either died very quickly or become genocidal maniacs.

I know, I am as disappointed as any of you that there is not a complete set of these amazing covers.

It seems like 1-13 were produced for the 2018 re-release of the novels.

If anyone knows Dang Thanh Tam or speaks Vietnamese, get in touch with the artist or find his presence online and ask him if he has any more covers filed away somewhere.

Oh, or if there are any Animorphs fans with an extra several grand lying around, commission him to finish these.
