I don't get the whole MIT vs GPL rivalry. They both have their uses. If you want to use GPL, go for it. And if you want something like MIT that works too.

Thankfully both exist because I think we definitely need both.

A question posted on another forum, but I thought it might be good to discuss here. Do you think it's true? And if true, why might that be?

It's becoming more and more apparent that the next generation is different than Boomers and GenXers. And our methods of evangelism and outreach may not be actually reaching Millennials and Gen Z.

So what does your church do or what ideas do you have to reach them with the gospel?

Sales have slowed because dealers are selling above MSRP still.

That's a pretty fantastic stick.

Wasn't one of my favorite bands, but Iistened to them regularly.

Lead singer of As I Lay Dying hired someone to kill his wife. (Guy he hired was actually a cop, so he went to prison)

My family was never much into trick or treating, but we usually like to get together with family / friends and watch Arsenic and Old Lace or Luther or something like that.

I think they do, but you barely use your brakes due to regenerative braking. So you don't have to change it very often, if ever

A bunch have. But it can be difficult to get a whole ton of non technical consumers move to a platform that's unpolished.

I love lemmy. But it can be confusing at first to new users.

I only know about the subs I mod.

A popular one with a couple million subscribers is seeing way less posts and less traffic.

A smaller niche sub that I mod is still quite active with no signs of stopping.

Reddit's biggest asset is its community. Charging for its API may be a necessary evil to survive an uncertain future, but Reddit's attitude against its own community isn't. Reddit is burning bridges on its quest for cash without showing an ounce of sympathy. That has brewed unprecedented furor amongst hardcore users and detracted from Reddit's effectiveness for more casual users, too.

That's it right there. Everyone gets that reddit needs to charge for API. But their attitude towards the very people who worked to make reddit what it is are being crapped on
