Life isn't like a movie. A movie has the liberty of making things black and white or easily understood. Real life is full of shades of gray and history, which shapes beliefs and opinions.

We're not literally throwing people into a meat grinder to keep society afloat. We're not sacrificing 10,000 humans a day to keep one man alive. We don't have literal corpses for helpers. We don't abduct children to put them through life or death training just to augment their bodies with gruesome medical implants.

OP has the right goals, but having a kid doesn't automatically change your life. Took the dude 9 months to start looking for a job? Yeah. Something tells me nothing is going to change.
