It just shows you the difference between saying "He posted a hate symbol" and "He posted a link to an opinion piece that happened to have what could be a 90 year old hate symbol as a thumbnail". It's always more complicated than the soundbyte title, and I would expect a bit better than that from a "fact checker". I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but little things like that make using them as a resource in a debate with a trumper almost impossible. There's precious few resources that can't just be dismissed out of hand due to opinions finding their way into fact resources.

The fact that you can go to Snopes and it says it's true tells you why some people have a problem with Snopes politicizing things.

Like shelter and the right to defend it.

Wow. It's even dumber than I thought. Apparently my lemmy.world account was banned and they considered this an "alt". I wasn't even using it for months since I settled on sh.itjust.works. It appears to have been because I said you can block people you don't like so stop complaining in a general post.

It's somewhat the same here. Don't disagree with the mob too much or you'll get banned. And don't disagree with a friend of the admins or you'll get banned from a big instance.

And of course, you won't see this because you're on lemmy.world.

There's a lot of out there one-shots, so I wouldn't be surprised if it showed up in one, but I doubt it's cannon. There was an ancient secret society pulling strings at one point.
