Guess it's time for France to bust out those guillotines again.

Maybe in large encampments but from my daily experience of watching a never ending battle from the police and a homeless spot they typically don't do that. They just tell them to leave, but they just come back eventually.

Everyday I walk by a spot where homeless congregate. At the beginning of the week there a few rambling around. By EOW there are 30 just sleeping coming down from their high or smoking meth. The cops come, tell them to leave, then it starts all over again.

They aren't exactly bothering anybody other than the smell and that the city has to power wash the parking structure on a weekly basis because they all piss and shit in it.

Look I care for these people, I'm not trying to sound all NIMBY here, but these are the type of people who don't want help. They want to stay in their hole. The only assistance you can give these people other than abducting them and put them in a facility, is to tell them to leave and go to a shelter. Addiction is a mother fucker, and the only disease you can get yelled at for.

There's literally dozens of us

I thought Ashoka was good, I just didn't like that I had to watch a 5 seasons of an animated tv show to understand what tf was going on.

Macroeconomics 101 would tell you no, prices won't go down because prices are sticky. Like your salary for example, just because a business is doing poorly your wage won't go down.

I won't get into the weeds about it, but if Ukraine was magically restored tomorrow, prices wouldn't go down but it would help prices from going up faster.

If we see prices go down that's a bad thing, and we are in for a rough time.

I think anyone who works with engineers looks at them that way.

I agree. I typically skip sex scenes in movies. Those scenes very seldom add anything to the story imo.

Unless it makes sense. In "What Women Want" with Mel Gibson, I believe that is a great example of a sex scene adding to the movie. The whole premise is him reading women's minds, so him having sex with Marisa Tomei and hearing their thoughts while in the act added to the premise.

So when I see a movie that is just like "hey these people are hot and we should film them go at it" is just boring imo.

No one reads the articles man. I won't lie, I'm guilty of it, but it's mainly cuz Im lazy and go to the comments hoping someone will give a synopsis.

Never said it didn't, but reddit is more left leaning than right as a whole.

Lemmy is just straight lefty though. I'm a liberal person so it doesn't bother me other than it just being a massive circle jerk most of the time.

Look I understood that when I made that comment no one would like it, but it's just the truth...

I've been here since the API garbage from reddit, and use it daily so I feel like I can make an honest assessment of my experience thus far.

I like it, its great. Better than reddit in a lot of ways. If someone is/was a heavy Reddit user I recommend it.

Welcome to Lemmy! If you thought Reddit was left leaning, you're in for a wild ride!

Also if you're an American you probably shouldn't be, because they automatically assume you're from the Bible belt. They will simultaneously say they don't care for American politics but then will always be talking about it.

Linux is the best OS just don't get into it. You better be using firefox. All the niche subs you had on Reddit aren't here, and you'll more likely just be blocking communities instead of subbing to anything.

And no one reads the articles, way more than reddit imo

The comments are slightly more interesting though.

It's not all that bad though, I'm being a little sarcastic, but only a little...

So that's why my work laptop is down for the count today. I'm even getting that same error as the thumbnail picture

Yeah the last two were done by Taika Waititi, and if you've seen any of his other movies its on par with that directing style.

Imo Thor Ragnarok was the best standalone Thor movie, even if they completely changed the character.

The Love and Thunder one just felt like a repeat of Ragnarok in a lot of ways.
