The good news is that there's always a tipping point, and rule changes soon follow to improve the spectacle.

That's how we got the ever-evolving offside rule, the backpass rule, tackles from behind outlawed, the list goes on.

In terms of quality of football, World Cup 1990 was a nadir and triggered a bunch of changes.

He's different IMO. The others in that list have/had major flaws, but Mainoo appears to have the full package for his position (to my uneducated eyes) and justifies the praise...for now. It's all just potential of course, but I don't see it in Garnacho for instance.

He's honestly really good. Was just ranting about how there's so much English talent in the Championship at the moment. The kind of players England isn't known for either—playmaking deep midfielders and the like.
