You'll have to ask the company that eventually buys them out!
Yes, although it has been that way for many many years. I also hate the concept of teaser trailers for trailers, as well as "THE. TRAILER. STARTS. NOW!" as if it's meant to build some kind of hype.

Back when I was younger in college there was a guy who was very socially awkward and unfortunately had a stink that could be smelt from the opposite end of a long corridor. He used to hang out with another kid who had learning difficulties. One day one of the least nice people in my class said to smelly guy "Jesus Christ, why don't you go take a shower, you stink!" and this caused smelly guy to go bright red in the face and storm off.
Cut to after class and a bunch of us go to the communal area of the college and hang out. Smelly guy walks into the area and walks up to his friend all flustered. His friend asks "Are you alright?" And smelly guy says "Someone told me I need a shower because I smell", friend says very timidly "it might be a good idea." Smelly guy goes bright red and storms off again.
He comes back after about 10 minutes and walks up to his friend and pulls out two cans of deodorant and shouts "YOU THINK I SMELL?!" And proceeds to spray the deodorant over himself in a rage...but then turns on his friend and sprays him like crazy. Everyone around is in shock and smelly guy throws the cans on the floor and storms out of the building. We can all see him out the window and he walks up to a bin and kick it, it doesn't move (secured to the ground) and he falls over, gets up and runs off. We didn't see him for the rest of the week.
The following week he turns up and his hair has been cut, he has new clothes and his aura of stink is gone. People just casually say hi and over the remaining time we were at college people started to talk to him more and were more polite towards him. He'd still hang out with his friend so I suspect that outburst was water under the bridge.
I hope ex-smelly guy is alright in life. That must have been quite the turning point for him.
Unfortunately it excludes a great deal of gen x and millennials as well who may have voted remain.
Cars really are more convenient on an individual basis. It's not ideal for the environment and getting stuck in traffic is a pain in the arse when it happens, but for the individual it provides greater benefits than public transport.
In the UK it's cheaper than public transport, it's much more reliable, it's healthier (not being in close proximity to those who may be harbouring a flu), and it affords people the freedom to travel somewhere that public transport can't get you sufficiently close to.
Personally I feel that the best step is to reduce the need for people to travel. If people don't need to be in offices then don't enforce policies to get them back in. That'll reduce car usage as well as public transport.
The key difference is that you don't have to be subscribed to all of those services at the same time. You can rotate through them.
Watch what you want on Netflix, unsub > sub to Disney and watch what you want, unsub > ....
Sure in an ideal world it would be better if everything was on a single cheap service, but sadly that won't happen.
If anyone genuinely feels this way and wants to get started in coding, I highly recommend doing one of the mooc.fi courses. Codecademy is fine as a taster/refresh but don't waste money on the premium when something like mooc is available for free.
I can see the writer's point with regard to Encarta being a much more interactive experience that you don't get with the likes of Wikipedia, but you're right, it's not that unfortunate that knowledge is being shared by Wikipedia for free
I feel for the teacher, Windows is still the predominant OS that is used by businesses worldwide and it's unlikely to change any time soon. Ensuring the kids have some familiarity with it is important as when a lot of them go into the workplace their employer isn't going to give them a choice of OS to use. A number of schools in my country now provide kids with Windows laptops that can be managed through group policies. I can imagine the teacher feeling frustrated at times as their teaching material will be geared to Windows and may face challenges in being able to grade your kid.
It's great you have given your kid experience in using Linux and that should set them up really well to working in a Linux based environment. Hopefully one day other OS will be added to teacher's curriculum so that all kids have the opportunity to get hands on experience.
No one has mentioned it from what I can see but I highly recommend the courses provided by https://www.mooc.fi/en/. It's the university of Helsinki and it's completely free. They offer both Java and Python courses. I believe they have an introduction to programming course that is done in Python.
Overall I enjoyed Dawntrail. Graphics update has been good, dungeon boss fights are more challenging, and the zones look great. The story was -ok-. Pacing was outright bad, especially in the final zone. Wuk Lamat was marmite, and I liked her and was happy for the story to not focus on the WoL for once.
