I think the opposite. I think GF will make loads of money, just not with the expensive R&D and other crap to do it. Slow and steady.

10th gen came out when?? Early 2020? That would put the earliest buyers around the four year mark in a few months. That would be the earliest they'd really need to make a jump and is in line with around the average upgrade cadence of four years.

They could look at Raptor Lake Refresh, but honestly if it were me and I had a 10900K, I wouldn't even start looking until Arrow Lake next year. A 10900K would still be a beast. Ditto with 11th Gen (though 11th gen was kind of a dud so I can see why people would want to get off that one lol).

That man is a charlatan. “His sources” are his left and right buttcheek. I’d never take anything he says as gospel.

SMG putting that marketing budget to good use…..

Nearly 13 years on the same CPU!? Upgrade today my man. If you live near a Microcenter they’ve got some killer deals right now. I’m seeing the 14700k bundle that includes a good board and 32GB of RAM for $500. I’d jump on that and not look back.

We gonna be rich bois.....

lol, ok maybe not, but good to see them right the ship and trending in the right direction. I've seen some absolutely comical takes about Pat's performance from the Youtube charlatans and the internet talking heads.

Microcenter has a great bundle deal on the 14900K right now. You get the CPU, a great board, and 32GB of DDR5 6000 for $700.

Send it!!!

Excellent point on the board costs. I suspect Arrow Lake will be much more efficient at getting it's performance, but I don't expect the raw performance overall to be that much better than Raptor Lake. Probably not worth waiting the whole year for if you need it now.

Great analysis!!! My only comment is I damn near guarantee they won't actually call it 15th gen after the naming/branding changes coming with Meteor Lake.

It’s the new 2500k for its time.
