I was hanging out in a park by a river one night with some friends, just grilling and watching the stars, chill night in nature. We heard a sound like a sorority group laughing and walking around near our camp. At first we didn't think too much of it since we were in a public park near a college town.

I got up to grab something out of my truck and saw the glowong eyes in the dark and quickly realized that was not a group of college girls but a pack of coyotes scoping out our food/cooler/us. We packed up the truck and noped out pretty quick after that.

The plane fell out of a window and shot itself in the back of the head 4 times on the way down while its arms were tied behind its back.

We all do/should. I don't know if it has gotten worse or if I have just started to realize how bad it actually is but, this state sucks in a lot of ways.

The fact that he got all pissy and started talking over the moderators when they did explain something saying essentially you agreed you weren't going to fact check us but now you are fact checking me is really telling.

I know for a fact Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Makita offer 12 volt versions of the chargers for their power tool batteries.

Start with a 12v version of the tool battery charger instead, then you eliminate the need for the inverter. Just do a simple solar charge controller and battery for power.

Another exploit was found on the WD MybookLive devices a few years back that allowed all the data to be copied/wiped remotely. I will never buy another WD device with network access.

The problem is that they have really ramped up enshitifying the public school system in the last few years. It was never great but either its gotten a lot worse or I have become much more aware of it in the last few years.

The power grid stuff is probably the easiest to fix with a solar setup but I don't know that I want to spend that money in a state I don't want to stay in longer term.

I can tell you the other thing people do as they grow up and that is develop their own views. Growing up in Texas, I didn't realize anything was wrong or out of the ordinary politically/ideologivally. My parents had their views which initially became my views since that was what was normal in my family and community

Getting older and more mature, I realized I didn't agree with my state or parents but I also didn't have the option to pack up and leave. By the time I was able to sustain myself and build a life, I had already gotten a job, a relationship, and wanted to start building my own family. Doing that meant staying where I was since my in-laws were in the same city and my spouse didn't want to be away from them.

Even if on paper to some people it is as easy as just sell your house and leave there are complicating factors. I don't want my kids to have to deal with hurricanes, power grid failures, intolerance of others, and everything else Texas has to "offer" but at the same time, its not so easy to just bail and start again.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have safe drinking water provided to us by our municipal water supply.

What I am saying is that between the choice of purchasing expensive bottled water which this article and others say is effectively contaminated, is horrible for the environment, and largely comes from the same supply as municipal water does, vs purchasing a point of use filter system which can remove most harmful thinks in tap water, you will largely come out with better water for less money in the long run, with a point of use filter.

You are also doing better for the environment by doing that and getting a reusable bottle to take it with you. If you are worried about water on the go, look at something like a grayle travel filter or one of the other options out there already.

My 7 month son got croup and has been in an out of the ER twice this week. Its currently midnight and is getting another nebulizer dose before we get moved to a room. Hes doing better but its been rough. We are gonna be here at least another day for observation this time which is way better than getting sent home again to see how he does. Here's hoping he kicks its ass and gets over this quick. It sucks seeing my little guy sick like this.

Edit: he's doing a lot better today. They were doing the nebulizer every two hours and its been almost 7 without it now. Fingers crossed we are over the hump. Thanks for the support y'all.

We lost power around 4:30 A.M. and have one fence panel down but are holding on okay otherwise.

Happy Father's day y'all. To celebrate I am doing a 9ish lb boston butt on my vision smoker with hickory chips and oak charcoal. Its been on for about 4 hours so far. I have some wings waiting on this lovely hunk of flavor to get closer to done so I can pull it and wrap it before getting the chicken on.
