I feel there will always be a place for 'smaller' games that were handcrafted with love. People love Baldur's Gate 3. Lots of indies are doing very well. People love these titles because it's clear the people involved love their product.

It'll just become harder to find the gems between all the carbon copy puppy mill games that are either lazily produced to cash in, or don't dare take risks due to the budgets involved.

Edit: lmao, who is downvoting this? I'd love to hear your counter.

They’ve explicitly stated they gave up on leading edge.

It feels like GF is slowly fading into irrelevance.

It strongly depends on your real world cases. Gaming workload? Temperatures are fine. Rendering workload? A lot higher temperatures, and it depends on your cooler whether that's fine.

CCA has issues with longevity, signal integrity and even safety. The installation process of a cable is always going to be much more expensive than the cable itself, so cheaping out for not much difference at all is just not worth it.

The Management Engine is literally a little embedded computer system with its own OS that manages the operation of your main computer system

Importantly, it has access to parts of your computer even when your computer is turned off. This is why it's important to keep it up to date.

That's pretty disappointing, but if they have extra PCIe lanes instead I'm not too disappointed.

The long story short is that faster cables preserve signal integrity better, and that's generally the result of either technology/design upgrades (shielding, different twist, etc), or tighter manufacturing tolerances.

High speed signals are more of a fuss as the speed goes up, and at some point things break when everything isn't just right. The endpoint simply cannot distinguish between 0 and 1 enough anymore.

I did disable smt and e-cores

Most games benefit from both nowadays.
