Only reason to upgrade from a 12th gen is if you need a better IMC, and if you did you would do it without needing to ask.

Give competitors' recommendations only where appropriate. If a user asks for Intel only (i.e. i5-12600k vs i5-13400?) recommendations, do not reply with non-Intel recommendations. Commenting on a build pic saying they should have gone AMD/Nvidia is also inappropriate, don't be rude. Let people enjoy things.

CPU Cooling problems: Just like 95C is normal for Ryzen, 100C is normal for Intel CPUs in many workloads. If you're worried about CPU temperatures, please look at reviews for the laptop or CPU cooler you're using.
Nothing unless you have a RX 7900XTX or 4080 or better
I am hijacking this comment because I have a 4080 and overclocked my 12600K to fixed 5 GHz, DDR5 6800CL34. I did disable smt and e-cores and I play at 4k@120/144 Hz but so far did had no urge to upgrade. I think a used 12700K would probably make most sense because my 12600K has AVX512 enabled and I like to keep this in my upgrade. But also maybe it makes more sense just to use a 7800x3D.
I did disable smt and e-cores
Most games benefit from both nowadays.
If you're on ddr4 and gaming is important 13600K. See techspot review on 13600k. It's faster with ddr4 than 12900K with ddr5 in gaming.
