I mean it sounds like DEI is about using the best talent available. Instead of narrowing your options. So DEI will become too expensive when the playing field is even.

Fuck Nick Fuentes, but let's not celebrate prison rape. It just makes for broken people who are worse than when they went in and that cycle of abuse spreads outside prison walls.
If only our justice system was about rehabilitation and making amends instead of about vengful punishment that ends up harboring a cycle of abuse that finds its way back into society.
It's also a lot rougher place to be.

Thomas got in because of cronyism. He was the best conspirator available. He was also appointed by a Republican President who claimed he was the best qualified. Quite the opposite of token hiring. The party accused of using DEI to subvert a meritocracy opposed his appointment (Democrats).
So in summary, the GOP is projecting its failures onto Democrats again.
