Ah, that explains why everything felt pretty off with the whole thing.
Stand-up scooters are allowed (they're also terrible because you can't see past them, and their tiny wheels mean their riders are constantly swerving to avoid irregularities in the road surface).
Mopeds (what I was referring to) are absolutely not allowed in bike lanes, they must have full license plates and the drivers must be also licensed.
Do you want yellow jacket protests? Because that's how you get yellow jacket protests.
Seriously though... it might not have been so extreme had macron not had his neoliberal head up his own ass and actually made the transition possible for rural drivers.
The same thing happened in NYC.. along with the dipshits riding in bike lanes, running pedestrians over and generally normalizing an absolute clusterfuck that's going to take a generation to bring back into line.
After learning motorcycles, all I can say is that maybe scooters aren't such a great idea. Rentals? Keep them to Class 2 E-bikes (MAXIMUM). Anything else? You need to understand that these things can hurt people and they are a privilege, not a right.
Perfection.
This. People exercised their consciences.
US now in the byzantine period..
I know absolutely nothing beyond the lego-brick level of building and watercooling machines. No EE chops whatsoever... but this stuff is so interesting to me and maybe one day, cost and space no object, having a palatial garage or workshop to muck around in... Just knowing it's possible really is the half of it.
My general opinion on China over the past few years have evolved to "OK they aren't perfect, but at least they seem to be trying, instead of actively making everything worse."
