That is absolutely wonderful news. It must feel bloody good. Please spend some money on yourself as some kind of reward or celebration.
Also, as a person that has saved in my earlier life, and not so much in recent times, I hope you keep some kind of saving regime in the future, but not so much that you can't enjoy life as it happens.
I have lost friends and family members that didn't make "old age", and I don't want to be negative, sorry, but it's important to enjoy life now.
Well once again, congratulations, I hope that burden lifting makes you float for quite a while.

Haha, funny you should mention a black vehicle in the hot sun because that's exactly what happened. Anyway it was damn hot. I recall about 20 years ago it had registered something like 45 degrees on the runway out at Amberly. One bloke working outside there at the time dropped and went to hospital. That kind of heat is no joke of course.

Thanks but I doubt that I'll ever dip my toe in again. Due to Reddit consistently praising "Threat Level Midnight", a few years ago I gave it a shot. It left me wondering just what the hell the attraction is. I just can't stand it, and I can't stand Carrel's character, or maybe him in general. Having said that I have seen him in a couple of movies where he wasn't playing the goof and it was fine. Each to their own, and there's plenty to keep us all entertained out there these days. Peace and love.

Haha. Well at least the cold is somewhat brief. Also we have to admit the days are usually quite blissful. At least your energy isn't zapped by the excessive heat like the middle of summer.
Having said all that, the current 26 degrees at 11 am is rather decent, so I'm off to dig out my sweet potatoes while it's not too ugly.

This was taken just after 4 am. I don't love mornings too much but at least I get to see this kind of thing on occasion.

The sun appeared between the clouds and the land but it didn't show up like that in this photo. It looks pretty cool though I reckon.

The sad thing for myself, a Brit that enjoyed the British version ( the original ) and can't watch more than a minute of that other load of crap, is that this saying is attributed to that shit show when it's been around for so much longer. It used to carry some weight when used sparingly and in the right context. Now it is so much more cheapened.
Well anyway OP, I hope you've learned a thing.

Edit. Gee I have only just joined this place and I had hoped it wasn't going to be like Reddit where silly fucks downvote simply because you state an opinion. Hmmmmm, should I have known better ? To the downvoters, get a life.

Earlier in the week the temp was reported as about 34/35/36 degrees. A workmate said that when he got in his car at 2 pm to leave work it was registering as 41 degrees. This is next to the Logan motorway very close to the Logan Hospital. Meadowbrook. Now THAT is bloody hot. I've lived in Australia for thirty years and I swear this is the hottest spell I have ever encountered. I've even lived in Cairns for 13 months and I'm sure it was never this hot. I mean I'm sure I'll be complaining of the cold mornings in a few months but right now one or two of those would be welcome.
Well, I hope you all have a great Friday and a lovely long weekend. Cheers.

I haven't watched any of it yet. Would you say that it's worth just watching the first series and forgetting the second, or does the second series wrap up some story lines ?

It is now tomorrow, here's hoping for some snow. We only do six hours on Fridays so at least I have that as one pleasant thing. Stay safe.

Would you mind telling me what "Fediverse" is please. I had a bit of a read about this new place/thing/situation/blogsite or whatever it's called. I'm an old Troglodyte and lucky that I even discovered Reddit 12 years ago. It was great for many years but I've grown tired of the same old comments and the insecure mods. Well anyway, happy newish year.

Well I just got here and I don't know what the title was referencing in regard to an earlier thread. I'm learning how to navigate this thing currently. I understand where you're coming from though. Maybe that earlier post explains it ?

Thanks for all this info but I have to say, I am soooo confused.
