Also transparent filaments are great. I 3D printed an olfa knife handle in transparent green (think Razer's green) and it looks fucking awesome.

I've been eyeing Amazfit's watches hard, ever since I saw a coworker with one. Wasn't interested in smartwatches before due to all the compromises each one makes but their watches seem like they're actually good from what I can tell.

Heavy-duty applications? Lots of devices in the home? Reliance on PoE? There are plenty of reasons to use big equipment, it's not just for show.

I couldn't run multiple game servers off of a laptop the way I do on my spare Ryzen 9 5900X. I also have it transcoding media and it has 30tb of storage, of which I'm currently using over 2/3s for media/steam cache.

I also have a 24 port switch because I have a whole family here each with their own PCs, consoles, etc.. I host the odd LAN as well and it wasn't really any cheaper to go smaller for when I don't need all 24, so I just popped it off. I also need two APs on different channels just to accommodate all the wireless devices + IoT shit.

Grew up in a conservative religious household, ended up a lefty because people who understood how to talk to outsiders without being fucking assholes about it made me question my beliefs.

I see the same problem as you with many lefties today: they have no ability to understand conservatives, and seemingly no desire either. They will choose the dumbest fucking hills to die on (drag queen story hour for example) instead of attempting an ounce of empathy.

You could talk to conservatives about corporate welfare or how inequality causes the economy to slow down rather than grow, leading to discussions about taxation, unionization, maybe even shorter workweeks! Nope gotta focus on some obscure identity shit: putting gender neutral bathrooms in city hall while your city's homelessness doubles is a sign your priorities are stupid. Focus on material, actionable things and actually talk to people: conservatives will respond to that.
