If a user wishes to know more about why an instance is defederated, then they should just make a post asking about it, or they should dm the admins.

I think the obvious counterargument is that being transparent-by-default increases trust and cohesion. I for one would be more willing to support an instance that is transparent in this way. Understandably there is an increased burden here and if it's a problem I think a few users would have some suggestions about how to handle it.

Debt is one of the primary ways we are controlled. Eliminating as much of your debt as possible as fast as possible reduces the ability of capitalists to control you. It's just smart.

I am with you on this, I don't want a cooktop with a damn battery and software updates. That's ridiculous.

Nothing stopping you from using diluted lye / oven cleaner and wiping it off, just be very sure you take the necessary precautions. Do not breathe that shit in or let it get on your skin.

The bigger issue is people thinking that voting is the only way to influence anything. Reality is that it is the absolute bare minimum you can and should do. People need to be getting involved in their local communities, their unions, the campaigns for local politicians... you cannot change the whole country and you need to stop trying. Change your immediate area, and let those changes become the new base voters are starting from when making decisions.

I didn't understand for so long how people could just sit down and do shit, while I hated doing things like dishes so much it made me irrationally angry.

Just knowing I have a problem helped. With some consideration and research I got ideas on how to deal with some of my problems. Example: hate washing dishes? Reduce the number of dishes you have at home and replace as many as possible with dishwasher-safe alternatives (assuming you have a dishwasher). Then they can't pile up so bad and it becomes less intimidating to take on.

What didn't help: suggestions from people without ADHD. "Just do it", "schedule it", "task tracker", etc.. yeah fuck that.

  • Struggle with eating fruit/veg instead of shit snacks? Buy pre-cut stuff.
  • Don't know what to cook? Use a recipe randomizer each week and just buy what you need, or just do 5 pages out of a cookbook or something, idk. Hell for a while I just made the same meals every week, no planning necessary.
  • Hate folding clothes? Just don't. Reduce the amount of clothing you have, get bins for each type of clothing, separate and pile that shit.

Couldn't disagree more. Immersion comes from the details, not the fidelity. I was told to expect this incredibly immersive experience form RDR2 and then I got:

  • carving up animals is frequently wonky
  • gun cleaning is just autopilot wiping the exterior of a gun
  • shaving might as well be done off-screen
  • you transport things on your horse without tying them down

Yeah that didn't do it for me.

I would love to have a smaller phone. Not thinner, smaller. I don't care if it's a bit thick, but I do care if the screen is so big I can't reach across it with one hand.
