The OG. The fact it was all done by a single dude blows my mind. People often praise Toby Fox for the same reason, and he definitely deserves it, but he wasn't good at programming. Pixel was good at everything: programming, music, writing, and art.

Thankfully, there's an official standard for using the internet with just carrier pigeons: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_over_Avian_Carriers

It was a thing in the 90s/early 00s. Google didn't exist back then. People did it purely because they wanted to share, not for monetary gain, because the ad industry hadn't thoroughly infiltrated the internet yet.

Were you online in the 90s/early 00s? Because this was a common thing with webrings. Google didn't exist, so this was sometimes the only way of letting people know about a cool thing you wanted to share.

I miss those days, before the ad industry fucked everything up.

I like the quarterstaff, but you know what would make it even better? If you took a sharp piece of metal and put it on one end so you can stab a dude after bonking him. I don't know what you'd call it though. A staffstab?

From the conclusion:

NAT may be a good short term solution to the address depletion and scaling problems. This is because it requires very few changes and can be installed incrementally. NAT has several negative characteristics that make it inappropriate as a long term solution, and may make it inappropriate even as a short term solution. Only implementation and experimentation will determine its appropriateness.
