What have been the games whose writing really got into you? in c/games

Been replaying FFXII, and now I notice it is extremely rich in plot and worldbuilding, including a lot of non-verbal details.

With cheat/game codes mostly gone, what do people use instead for their single-player games (that don't involve microtransactions)? in c/games

Game Conqueror on Linux, Cheat Engine on Windows, and save states on Virtualbox and emulators.

Adding beans, minced meat and grated cheese makes for an excellent combo, me thinks. 👌
