There was a post here not too long ago about how we don't have enough things that politicians and political influencers do. So here, a trashy post.

The world saw it happen live on television. What world do you live in…?

Reality. Feel free to join it some time.

Who won the election, again?

Lmao you guys really just love changing the topic every time you get called out.

We all saw it happen.

We all know why it happened.

Fuck off with your apologetics for an attempted fascist putsch.

How do you have the gall to say anyone is arguing in bad faith when you post this shit with a subhead like that?

Fucking shameful.

Lmao given how you're talking, I suspect you're not basing your view on what happened and why in reality

The validity of a statement is independent of the claimant.

And that's before you recognize that the article itself explains that she had motivation to say literally anything, no matter how bullshit to get a Jan 6 defendant to talk:

The video, apparently filmed surreptitiously in the style of Project Veritas and released by CitizenLens, reportedly between Pelosi and a January 6 defendant she was courting so as to appear in her documentary of the event, featured Pelosi discussing the political implications of the Jan 6 show trials and their effects on the upcoming 2022 mid-term elections.

Courting != admitting.

Please don't show up in some other political discussion pretending you want a sincere and honest debate, k?

[–] No1RivenFucker -1 points 1 year ago

Why, because you know you're incapable of it?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't know if I really accept that there is admission there, especially since it is an attempt to get someone to talk.

What gets me is that it seems so easy for people to be very blasé about what happened on that day. For me, that day and 9/11 were the two of the worst days of American history in my lifetime.

Jan 6 isn’t even in my top 20. It was a riot. Nothing more.

Remember when the capital was bombed ? That was much worse in my opinion.

Pan am 103? Korean 007 when we thought we might have a war?

So many things were much more impactful than Jan 6th. I don’t even think about it unless a democrat is skreeing about it.

I didn't remember the Senate bombing, I had to google it. I asked my wife and she didn't remember either, and I am telling you, this woman remembers every damn thing.

It's not something I ever remember hearing about, though obviously it was big news at the time. I remember the embassy bombing in Beirut, I remember it came out that US was protecting Klaus Barbie but he got caught. I remember Karen Carpenter died, but I don't remember a bomb going off in Senate chambers when no-one was there and no-one was hurt.

Since we are remembering, I also remember two years after that when Yitzhak Rabin got assassinated for signing the Oslo accords that would have been a peace deal between Israel and the PLO. Unfortunately an extremist Israeli killed him to put a stop to any peace. Then Netenyahu did everything to he could to get rid of the PLO (who wanted to sign the peace deal remember) and support Hamas so that Gaza and the west bank wouldn't coordinate and so there wouldn't be any Palestine state, and I feel like that had some unintended and negative consequences.

Beirut is another one that I missed. My uncles had just come home from the Marine Corps when that happened. Neither was stationed there but the corp wasn't that big back then. They knew a few of the guys over there.

I remember Elvis dying. For years there were ads for his records on the TV. I didn't understand who he was at the time. I just remember everyone talking about it. One of the few things I remember from that age.

Not really a historic event but do you remember Zamfir and his magical pan flute?

The capital was bombed twice in a ten year period.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Haha yes I remember Zamfir, hauntingly beautiful!
