Apparently the enablement package reintroduces the bug where custom settings are always reset on startup... just letting you guys know this. Use ViveTool if you absolutely need your settings to be kept.

We need to push Microsoft to fix this AGAIN... -3-

Cheers!

Huh?

The post you shared is from september, before the stable version of 23h2 came out?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Not for me, so far at least. I'm on 23.11.1 and 23H2 (ver. 22631.2506)

No issue here.

Good thing i'm still on windows 10 and staying on it until 2025. Have avoided all of these issues.

Lol at the down votes must be on win 11

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Used to be on a locked down Win7, now I'm on a locked down Win10!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

imagine using W11 on purpose

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

W11 and no issues and I love it the new look, the responsiveness, the new features... looking to wndows 10 like windows 95, but I understand if you have a very old computer stay on windows 10 :(

I'll give you a point for your attempt at being passive aggressive. But next time you should read flair before making wild statements so you don't look silly

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

in that case my recommendation to not have problems on w11 fresh install basic setting on bios like xmp curve optimizer(AMD) etc, let auto everything on w11, don't force new updates on windows let it be and you wouldn't have any problem

Zero issues in my end for either of my systems.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Somehow I haven't experience this bug at all. I've been updating to every new driver as it releases and I've got the latest Windows 11 updates. Never had my settings reset

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I think I know what it is man, are you using the AMD preview drivers? On 23H2 I had the same issue, downgraded to the stable ones and the issue disappeared.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I'm also running Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, OS build 22631.2506 along with the latest November 9th preview driver and have no issues, I was also using the preview drivers from both October 13th and October 6th.

In fact it was when I started using the preview driver from October 6th that the issue went away.

Fuk windows 11

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Everyone cried about how this cant be a windows problem and AMD needs to fix it 👀

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I reinstalled a clean 23H3 and have not experienced this at all yet :O

But i also have the gpedit.msc rule for not allowing drivers in Windows Update so...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I'm running Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, OS build 22631.2506.

Running the latest November 9th 23.30.01.03 preview driver and no issues with my settings reverting after a start-up/reboot.

I did have that issue on a previous WHQL driver(cant remember the exact version)but after swapping to using preview drivers back in October, never had it since.

Since amd fixed this issue can I enable those services that I disabled before the fix with ViVeTool?

Nothing i did between windows updates and driver updates ever fixed it for me. Im on the absolute latest preview driver and the current WHQL AMD Driver so maybe its fixed now for me?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

If you are on the latest driver, yup, that's the fix.
