When someone belittles another person for their lack of knowledge.

Just fucking teach the person what's right, you don't have to mock them for being wrong.

Yeah, how do those idiots not understand this!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I see what you did there.

The best teachers are the ones that are super excited to share things.

advertisements. They're gross and i don't like when people try to sell me things in my own house.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

People who don’t use their turn signal when driving. It’s literally the least you can do to help avoid an accident and some people can’t be bothered. I find it so selfish and gets me in such a bad mood

Superheroes that don't kill. You know well that the villain is just going to kill again and you're just going to let them live??????

The pain of an abscessed tooth that has gone untreated for seven weeks.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The people that drive up to my neighbor across the street to pick someone up. Instead of calling or going to the door and ringing the doorbell, they honk their horn. Repeatedly. And they keep doing it until the person comes out.

What makes this worse is that they'll do this late at night. It's 11pm, dark, and I'm trying to get everyone settled for the night. Suddenly: HONK! HONK HONK! HOOOOOOONNNNNKKKKK! HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK! HONK! HOOOOOOONNNNNKKKKK!

Just get out of your car and go to the door already. You don't need to wake up the entire neighborhood just to tell one person in one house that you're there.

Where I live it's only legal to use the horn to prevent serious situations, so someone doing this could (and would) be fined by police/eventually lose their license.

Even in places where this isn't directly illegal, is it illegal to make loud noises after certain hours? If so, that could be a reason to call the police or make some kind of official complaint against the driver.

Also, have you tried talking to this person? Maybe they don't realize that its disrupting literally everyone (a lot of people forget that other people are not just NPCs).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I haven't tried talking to them. We don't really interact with the neighbor whose house this person goes to. And it usually happens late enough that I'm in my pajamas. I'm not going to storm out in my PJs and ask the person to be quiet.

There's also the violence factor to consider. Too many people seem to go right from a slight (real or imagined) to "open fire." The college kid who recently was killed while they turned around in a guy's driveway? That happened an hour away from me. I'm frankly afraid that I'd go to their car to ask them to be quiet and they'd decide "time to 'defend myself' with this gun."

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

People who are constantly late. Sure, emergencies happen to all of us once in a while. But if you're always late, then you're just rude.

When speaking about skills I'm working towards, topics I'm studying, or even just talking about a piece of media I like and the recipient responds with something like "you should start a business/offer courses/create a YouTube channel". Profit mentality is a disease.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

That sounds incredibly annoying, doesn't happen too much where I'm from luckily

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

People with double standards. It's okay for them to do something, but not okay for me to do that thing, while having general rules that state about what people should abide by yet expecting everyone to follow it equally. It's not equal if you're giving shit to someone just because you feel that they aren't following the rules when they are.

Egg. Always have to break a bit of the shell to make it stand.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Vegetables. Just can't enjoy them.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

ALL vegetables? That seems crazy. I don’t eat nearly as much variety of vegetables as I should, but I still eat plenty of vegetables. Potatoes are a vegetable.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I still eat them, because you have to, but I've never yet met a vegetable that I actually enjoy eating. Some are better than others.

Admittedly, I'm not counting potatoes, which I do quite enjoy, because they don't have the nutritious value that most veggies have. But no other exceptions.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Corn on the cob? Sweet Potatoes? Peanuts? I can understand not liking leafy greens, but man, there’s a LOT of veggies out there that are pretty interesting, especially when cooked in lots of salt and butter.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Don't like corn on the cob. Sweet potatoes are OK, but I don't really enjoy them. They fit into the "will eat because I have to, but don't really enjoy" category of veggies. Peanuts are ace and are definitely not vegetables. I mean, technically they are, but really they're nuts and I will die on that hill.

That feeling of having an idea, but right when you go to tell someone or write it down, you forget it and can not get it to come back.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

That’s my feel-like-you-just-forgot-something ray. I’ve been aiming it at your head from the bushes. You didn’t actually have any ideas just the feeling of having forgotten them.

Ask threads that ask people to say negative things that end up just putting more bad energy out into the world.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'd rather have this, which creates discussions over those people who ask technical/support questions on asklemmy
