It all makes sense now! Cats like to catch birds, so cat drones can catch bird drones.

Yes, that's an actual taxidermied cat. It used to be alive as well.

Wow, that's fucked up. It's like something out of a Junjo Ito comic.

Nope. Chuck Testa.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 2 years ago

Here I was having a perfectly good day and you had to come and ruin it.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 years ago

I've never been a fan of taxidermy, but now I hate it even more

[–] 257m 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Imagine walking down the street and that thing flies over your head. I would be scarred for life.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

It's going to rain. The cats are flying low today.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 years ago

Where do you think they get their ideas??

[–] [email protected] 28 points 2 years ago

Birds are going to think the zombie apocalypse has begun

Fuck that account. They took a long running internet joke and then tried to claim they started it, all to chase a buck. Charlatans.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Eh, the movement was built upon bullshitting others. Let the bullshit flow, I say.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (2 children)

Well they were conspiracy theorists

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They we are conspiracy theorists?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

Precisely as it should be.

I just hope nobody named Far Far Sinks or something like that shows up...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Well they are going to need aviators

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago
[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

I suppose it would be cheap and effective to use the bird's superior wing?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

How long before they move on to humans and start the real zombie apocalypse?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (2 children)

The conspiracy that ALL birds were drones, not that they made drones out of dead birds.

This is more of a drone corpse

This would actually disprove that 'birds aren't real' and points to a more sinister cabal.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This is clearly just a limited hangout so they can say "look at how crude our taxidermy robots are! This totally proves birds are real!"

The government wants you to believe they aren't capable of creating the omnipresent surveillance network that are so-called "birds". We've been under this surveillance since the early 60s when the government avian extermination program was in full swing. Why else do you think they were so gung-ho about DDT? It helped provide smokescreen for the avian replacement system experiment. Wake up, Birds Aren't Real

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

But if you read the avain replacement system experiment paper you would have seen it was of limited success. Sure pigeons and starlings are no longer real, but those were the only 2 successfully replaced species.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You forget that paper is from the mid-80s. I don't understand why people think they just stopped replacing birds. The authors of that paper based it all on declassified documents that were almost 30 years old even then! If anything the government just got better at hiding what they were doing, mark my words in another couple decades it'll come out that it's not only the pigeons and starlings that have been replaced but also robins, seagulls, and a variety songbirds!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

IIRC the issue with waterfowl conversion was sudden failure of seals, buoyancy and ballast systems.

The seagull program was hit with the extra problems of salt water

Last leak mentioned the advances have made in the house sparrow model, but battery life is still an issue.

Songbirds aren't used due to birdwatchers; as outlined in the paper "Avain surveillance: security, counter surveillance, and camouflage" read the updated 2019 version.

I forgot to add, not fucking serious, because if you click the link it takes you to a tech death metal song.

Really should remember my fellow neurodivergents have issues when you deliver a joke deadpan.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 years ago

Mentioned issues aside, I’ve met quite a few neurotypicals who are extremely blind to satire, deadpan or not.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

didn't notice the link, sorry
