Here's the story about the Texas City plumber whose Toyota truck was used by ISIS for those that haven't read it

https://www.cnn.com/2015/12/14/us/terror-truck-lawsuit/index.html

Holy shit thanks for the laugh

did he win that? why didn't he just remove the decals himself?

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The dealer advised him not to remove it because it might ruin the paint, and he won the lawsuit

The article doesn't mention whether or not he won the lawsuit. Where did you get the info on him winning the case?

Edit: I found the article - He won an undisclosed sum of money

Almost as lazy as the guy who didn't bother to read the article, amirite?

think you need to edit your comment mate, "almost as lazy" as an opener only works if I had called him lazy.

Thats the secret. You're always in NCD.

Doesn't matter to Toyota one bit.

Their initial sale isn't to the middle east or in any way driven by the middle eastern market and tends to be completely done on the merit of the vehicle.

The trucks in the middle east are almost all second hand to the level some people were horrified and surprised when the vehicle they sold in the US, still bearing their logos and name, showed up in videos of insurgents and straight up terrorists in the Middle East.

You're forgetting all the free advertising when your cars show up in the news all the time /s

That does help the resale value though, which has a knock on effect to sales.

Did shittytechnicals make it over to here, yet?

Well you never see new trucks, only ever like 90s Hiluxes. So really it's Bob's Used Cars who's licking their lips

There's a lot of 70 series cruisers, which look older than they are because Toyota has been making them for thirty years straight at this point.

Did they ever make a Toyota Lowlux? Just something not so damn bright.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 years ago

Toyota: we need a model that literally scrapes the ground, the lowrider market is untapped
