Well, I'm from Sweden so... blåhaj lol
The "å" is pronounced like the "a" in "war", if someone from Britain was saying it. Haj is kinda like "hi", I guess?
Your space for all things Blåhaj!

Distinguishing between /ˈbloːhaj/ and /ˈbloʊhaɪ/ is difficult, at least for this anglophone.
/ˈblɑːhɑːʒ/ is the meme name though
Blå balbil med blåhaj for förbi fyr och får för fort
As an English speaker that learned some Swedish, å is an A pretending to be an O.
Everything from 'blaw-high' to 'blah-hadge' but it tends to trend towards simply, 'shonk'.
Good shonk.
He has so many different pronunciations for sure! :3
Funny story I didn’t know it was supposed to be pronounced as blohai, until one time I was hooking up with another trans woman from tinder and she got excited when she saw my blahaj and kept pronouncing in the worst way possible (correctly but I didn’t know). I chose to not “correct” her but I was like wow weird
It bugged me so much that I googled it next morning and realized I’m the silly one
Also, the blahaj is called steve in my household and it’s the only way one shall refer to steve.
Yeah I can't help but say it in the Anglicized "bla-ha-j", but I always say it in a bit of a goofy way like, a bit of a sing-songy way. Like, musically F-[bla], D-[haj]. Its just too fun saying it like that.
Blah haj.
Thank you for reminding me about Blo hi.
im a swede so I know it's blåhaj but I still say it blah-hach. it's sillier that way hehehe :3
For some reason I pronounce it "bla-hadzh" sometimes. I know this is wrong, but anyway. Shonk seems to be enjoying a bit of chaos :)
Wait, what's the difference between "dzh" and a "hard j"? (Assuming "zh" refers to the final sound in "garage.") The "hard J" is just a combination of "d" and "zh".
Well, I'm not sure if there is any difference - sorry, not a native speaker. I mean sound like this: https://pronuncian.com/pronounce-j-sound
there is no difference, a hard j (like in jacket) is the same thing as "dzh", just "dzh" is more spelled out instead of just being a name for it
Today I learned. Thanks!
Bluh-hazh, where "zh" is the final sound in "garage." In IPA, that's [b^h^lə'hɑʒ].
I try my best to say [ˈbloːhaj] like in Swedish (should sound kinda like "BLO-hayeh" with the "eh" clipped off), but the terminal [j] is really hard to get right since I don't speak any languages that end words with a "y" sound. I usually end up saying [ˈbloʊhɑː] (BLO-ha) instead, getting both syllables wrong :(.
[ˈbloʊhaɪ] (BLO-hai) is what I hear most other people say.
Yeah the terminal /j/ is very confusing to me. /ˈbloʊhaɪ/ is the best I can do
I do pronounce the "j" as a "y" sound but my "å" is def not correct, it ends up as way too "a" and not "o" enough xD
Blah-hadge, though I'll also tend to mention blo-hi when I'm teaching someone about our ally.
I know i say it wrong but i pronounce it like blah-hasch. It sounds very funny and cute :3
I pronounce it Blo-hai, but ya, Bla Ha is super fun as well.
...I do also just call him Shaaaaaaaaark way too often, very fun, I do recommend
I pronounce it like blåhaj ”blo-hi”. I’m a bit biased though since I’m from Ikea land myself.
Bl-arge because it makes me laugh
/bla/ /hah/ ?
Bla as in blablablabla
haj as in hahaha
Blue hi
Kinda like bluh-HAI
I pronounce it as basically blow high
I think I might be wrong, but I personally say it blah ha. But I don't think this is how its meant to be said lol, like you said blo-hi is the one that I think? maybe is correct
