And it specifically refers to the subset of "reddit like" ActivityPub platforms, so it's more specific than Fediverse. Threadiverse instances are part of the Fediverse too, but they're quite distinct from Mastodon etc
The last thing lemmy needs is more centralisation on lemmy.world
If that happens organically with enough communities, then it might be something we consider, but I'm not going to push people to uproot their communities if they don't have to.
We now have a PieFed instance for those who want to avoid lemmy altogether!
