Silly question, but I'm confused about RAM for productivity. Low-ish temperatures and performance for things like a DAW, Resolve and Lightroom are key.

Option 1: Kingston Fury 5600mhz 1.25v CL 36

Option 2: Corsair Vengeance 6400mhz 1.35v CL 42

I've been told the following:

  • Lower voltage and lower CL means better quality RAM that is easy to overclock without temperature or other issues, even if only 5600
  • It's easier to tighten the timing of 6400 and drop it down to 6000 than it is to overclock 5600 if you're not a tinkerer
  • 6400 will perform better than 5600 even though 5600 has marginally lower latency
  • The lower CL of 5600 is actually more important

So...which is it? And why?
