There's this software that's $50 for a perpetual license. Alright. I can respect that. They don't want a subscription in a day and age where everyone and their grandma wants to charge a subscription. But the fine print says, that if you upgrade any parts of your PC, you need to reach out to them for a new activation code.

I don't upgrade my PC often, but I can see how that can be annoying. And also, what if their website goes down or they go out of business? What then? I'm left holding my dick?

So I just found a pirated version from a site on the megathread and it's working perfectly. I can upgrade my PC as often as I want and I don't have to "raise my hand and get their permission" to be able to use this software, which I already paid for, on my PC.

I wish these software companies would just let us own the apps we buy.
