Depends on who you ask Literally, there are different classification of fruits, There is:
Botanical: Berry
Culinary: Fruit
Agricultural: Fruit
Nutritional: Fruit
And many many more, if someone tries to point out something like that it's just because they are being pretentious or just learned a new factoid and doesn't understand nobody cares.
Botanically speaking, bananas are indeed berries, just like cucumbers.
