I don't think I can trust democrats after refusing the Democratic process for at least 10 years.

How dare they buy elections! They are supposed to buy us!
I mean, that’s good, but fuck me, the fact that that’s even necessary is appalling on multiple levels
A report published earlier this year found that the top 100 billionaire families in the U.S. pumped a record-shattering $2.6 billion into federal elections in 2024—which amounted to one of every six dollars spent by all candidates, parties, and campaign committees in total.
Fuck me! I knew it was bad, but 16.6% of the money spent on federal elections came just from the top 100 billionaire families -- and that is another phrase that breaks my brain. That is insane! No wonder this country is so fucked.
Honestly thought it would've been higher.
Their billion dollar status is based a lot on speculative value of stocks and not current money on hand.
"But both parties are the same", they say. "There's no point to voting or supporting Democrats because they will never try to change the status quo."
The key is to organize at the local level. Get into politics and either change your state's party from within, or failing that, challenge them from another party like the DSA, which has made strides across the US.
So the DNC is going to support them in doing this, right?
It sure would look bad if they tried to push back against it.
The Democrats and doing things that look bad (because they are): name a more iconic duo
Wow, a state level group is talking about maybe kinda trying to undo the things the party did nationally, everyone was clearly always wrong about everything
"Look one democrat in this local level race is a good person, so the party is absolved of the fact they vote yes on Trump's policies."
Taking bets this gets the ire of the DNC because "the good billionaires" should be allowed to tip the scales, like 2016, 2020, 2024.
I’m sure it will also get the green party pretty pissed off. Not to mention the Republicans. And literally every other political party currently in existence
Uh oh! Chuck Schumer and the National DNC Party is about to TURN OFF Their Funding!
is he drafting some strongly worded letters? fuck chuck schumer and the private jet he flew in on.
This is going to run afoul of the Citizens United ruling.
yeah it’s too bad the citizens united ruling runs a foul of democratic representation.
Too little too late. Should’ve acted after the Citizens United ruling.
good luck, americans are easily duped by the amount of zeros they have in their bank account opposed to their integrity. especiallly the more priviledged they are since birth.
This headline hurts my brain, it feels like a grammatical contortion of normalcy into a possible alternate future that may not be the path chosen
