Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Ripping off content to train AI wasn’t going to fly with either MAGA populists or MAGA media.

What initially appeared to be a power play by Elon Musk and DOGE to take over the US Copyright Office by having Donald Trump remove the officials in charge has now backfired in spectacular fashion, as Trump’s acting replacements are known to be unfriendly — and even downright hostile — to the tech industry.

The appointments of Blanche, Perkins, and Nieves are the result of furious lobbying over the weekend by the conservative content industry — as jealously protective of its copyrighted works as any other media companies — as well as populist Republican lawmakers and lawyers, all enraged that Silicon Valley had somehow persuaded Trump to fire someone who’d recently criticized AI companies.

The Heritage Foundation may have planned this governmental takeover better than the techbros. Where they conflict, the Heritage Foundation will likely win.

Odd to side with one fascist organization over another. They both are traitorous, evil burdens on humanity. Placing their profit margins above stability.

That’s what they don’t get. Integrity and morality provide stability to a civilization. Minor deviations can be absorbed, but throwing away any semblance of basic decency and goodness destroys the foundation of civilization.

No, they get that. They WANT that. It's what the dark enlightenment bullshit is all about, and the religious nutjobs think it'll bring about the kingdom of heaven. They both want civilization in shambles, completely unable to resist their authoritarian fantasies.

That's why it's called anti-social personality disorder.

To be fair, that's how the Nazis worked too. This image of a singular Nazi state with one goal is a myth.

The top leaders of Nazi Germany were constantly at war with each other for Hitlers approval.

Autophagy is a natural occurrence. And predicted.

The copyright industry isnt our friend. Neither of them are fighting for us, they are fighting over who gets to fuck us over.

What Musk wants from the government is fundamentally different from what the freaky christo-fascists want. Musk has already lost.

Yeah, the christofascists and the technofascists are both groups of unbearably abrasive control freaks, and neither of them can stand to give up one miniscule bit of power. It'd be delicious if their edgelord ideologies weren't so dangerous to the rest of us.

(X) Doubt.

All that matters is loyalty. They may vote in a certain manner for the majority of cases, but what matters are the critical cases of interest to their overlords.
