I did enjoy seeing the Tories lose their minds over this, even though they tried to dismiss one of their own donates doing the exact same thing.
United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
The Tories and Jo Cox's husband.
They stated that "an extract of footage, deliberately taken out of all context, is now being exploited and weaponised, as if it were a call to action".
So what do they claim was the context?
Their personas and performances are definitely tongue-in-cheek. No-one (not already on a watchlist) who attended those events would come away with the impression they were actually inciting murder.
However they recently called out Israel at a major American event, and so the bot farms are in furious overdrive to amplify any clippable moment.
I imagine they'll say:
We were just messing. You know. Calling for our boyos to murder one of your MPs. But just for the craic, like. No offence.
Did they say the only good Tory is a dead Tory? Those are like the right wing fucks, right?
