Summary

Trump’s advisers are reportedly misleading him about support for his tariff policies, claiming working-class voters back them.

However, polling shows most non-college-educated Americans—especially nonwhite voters—believe tariffs hurt the economy and increase inflation.

A Marquette Law poll found only non-college white men narrowly support tariffs. A CNN poll showed 59% of non-college voters disapprove of Trump's handling of tariffs.

Critics argue Trump’s team is feeding him a distorted view, ignoring backlash and economic risks, which could give Democrats an opening to reclaim working-class support amid rising costs.

I know we’re talking about Fox anchors, but holy christ can you imagine going on live TV and knowing that ticker was below your face? Like… what…?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Speaking of fox anchors... I used to work for a company that provided an ice cream machine for Dairy Queen and Carvel to do segments on a morning Fox show in Manhattan for the start of the ice cream season and I really had to fight the urge to add a laxative to the mix...

I kick myself frequently for not doing it, but I could imagine those asshats charging me with biological terrorism or something absurd and I kinda felt bad about "collateral damage" as other crew would come eat after the segment was over lol

That’s exactly what they want

I'm fairly sure this is actually real sadly enough

I remember a story about Men thinking wheels on luggage made them weak until someone sponsored pilots to have some. Toxic masculinity is truly a blessing of nurgle. It rot and festers.

Imagine being so insecure and so stupid that you honestly believe this.

The tariffs are genderless. Assigning gender affirming adjectives seems to run counter to their rhetoric.

"...give Democrats an opening..." Yeaaaahh, they surely won't squander this opportunity.

Whaaaaaat? Being surrounded loyalist yesmen does not produce an environment for truthful feedback? I, for one, am shocked. Shocked I tell you!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

I'm surprised no one has tried the "You hate DEI because you claim they lack merit, well I hate Trumps YES hires because their only merit is sucking up to Trump. No expertise required..."

Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake

You don't get good and decent people when you are a well known narcissists. At best you get yes men and yes blonde women. At worst you get someone just like you who plays you like a fiddle. This is what he has. A mix of useless sycophants and manipulative opportunist.

In the real world, all the tariff chaos gives Democrats an opening to try to crack his vaunted coalition.

In the real world, The New Republic, the trump voting bloc is a cult. It is not possible to "crack his vaunted coalition", becuase it is one single unit of fear-based lifelong republiQans and hypnotized rightwing media victims that no amount of logic or reasoning can penetrate.

To repeat: it is a cult, media is a desperate vortex of lies and you're not really helping like you mean to.

But you're sweet to offer false hope.

basically like putin, his "circles" are constantly telling him what he want to hear and not from anyone with actual advice,

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 days ago

In 90 days—or, who knows, nine—Trump could flip-flop yet again.

Well exactly. The demented rapist is a fucking menace to reason, much less a functioning government.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

He didn’t hire people who would contradict him.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Would someone please have the guts to repeatedly tell him the truth and destroy the fantasy world he lives in. Everyone around him that keeps quiet is absolutely part of the problem.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Pffft.

Do you think that anyone talking to him would change his mind about anything?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

Nope but I can hope….

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Well, yeah...

That's how the cowardly sycophants keep their respective jobs under Mafia Don Mangolini.

Whadya expect?
