I can excuse transphobia and racism, but I draw the line at bad economic policies!

spoilerhopefully obvious sarcasm.

Half of them cracked because they're broke now, They haven't suffered enough

[–] Helvetica 74 points 1 day ago (1 children)

As soon as they feel economic pain: I didn't vote for this.

They're fine with racism. They're fine with homophobia. But mess with their investments? The whining is going to be historic.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 12 hours ago

I mean, yeah. Most of what Trump campaigned on came back to the economy. Even his immigration stance was ultimately about jobs.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 day ago

Of course. They would ban any other discussion.

[–] [email protected] 114 points 1 day ago (3 children)

It doesn't help that 99% of posts or comments that go against Trump are removed or the user is banned. The only posts that make the cut are made by like 10 of the over a million users.

Getting banned from r/conservative was like a rite of passage every time I made a new reddit account.

Always a good trick to post their usual bigoted drivel, wait for it to get enough upvotes to take the spotlight, then edit the post body to go full leftist. Good times.

Lol I remember going into askconservative and trying to ask them about freedom of speech and having to tip toe around trans rights because that was a sensitive subject to them. Imagine that the party of free speech being snowflakes about a subject that if they were true to their words they would not give a fuck about.

[–] [email protected] 40 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yep. If you dont kiss the orange anus then you are a communist libtard radical left lunatic cuck and get banned.

[–] ogmios 16 points 1 day ago

Nah man, they just ban everyone. That sub is literally just a strawman for idiots to rage at.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

The political compass really is a Pac-Man level, huh

[–] [email protected] 66 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's also at least 40% "We're being brigaded by the liberal elite"

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The sub operates in cycles and it's like clockwork

Trump (or republicans in general) do something outrageously bad.

Sub is in uproar about it.

People start accusing /r/politics of brigading.

About a day later, the sub has it's marching orders in line and it's no longer upset about the thing.

About a day after that, nobody on the sub was ever upset about it and everyone agrees it was actually a good thing.

Every. Single. Time.

Yup, that's it exactly. It's surreal to see the same thing happening over and over. I check in every now and then to see what they're talking about and sometimes I really feel like I'm in some alternate reality. Their perception of things is so completely different. They still think Trump has some kind of master plan and that all the tariffs are chess moves to make other countries comply with his demands. They're also convinced that all the short-term pain will result in long-term prosperity and that the U.S. will be respected again and back to its rightful place as world leader.

And I'm here thinking... are we talking about the same guy? It makes no sense. I don't understand how they can see/listen to Trump and get this impression.

They weren't happy with the tariffs at first. Some post were really critical, but now they kind of all got on board and suddenly they all agree with it. It was even worse with the Signal leak thing. At first some of them were so pissed about it. But then suddenly they pivoted to blaming the journalist for not leaving the chat and then they started some argument about semantics, like they weren't 'war plans' they were 'battle strategies' as if changing the words actually changed the issues. By the end they all agreed that a mistake might have been made, but they are all loyal to Trump and loyalty is super important.

Surreal.

Still the best explanation that I have seen, from the former Greek finance minister:

That guy is smart but he's giving Trump way too much credit. Trump doesn't think, it's just vibes-based grifting as hard as possible

E: spelling, thanks autocorrect

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 hours ago

Doesn't have to be Trump's plan.

It's the North Korean state ideology (wiki):

Juche posits that a country will prosper once it has become self-reliant by achieving political, economic, and military independence.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Taking notes from fucking North Korea.

So glad my entire family voted for a ln obvious lying dictator because egg prices or something.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

another aspect of juche is that it's essentially a monarchy

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

So is a democracy with a president who is governing with executive orders

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Russia bots get their LLM training from that sub.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

it's called dog fooding to feed the output back in as training data

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Dogs deserve better food than that.

I propose a new term... We just need to come up with a way to say "human centipede circle" in only a few syllables.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

garbouroboros

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago

Maybe reslop - ai slop made from ai slop

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago

Funny watching them twist themselves into pretzels trying to justify Dear Leader’s fuck fest.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)

They'd better be fucking practicing for civil war.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They have no chance. Trump is losing supporters faster than the Miami Marlins after a home game.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

You are deluded if you think they will join your side. If the Republicans fracture, which they wont, they will likely rally under another extremist right wing banner and double down on their racism, religion, and aggressive posturing against us.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I mean if there’s a war on Trump, they just don’t have the numbers.

As for the fracture, that will happen as soon as Trump is gone. That’s how cults work. They’ll splinter over the next chump to follow and fall apart.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Actually, polls show him as still around 44-46% in favor, where he’s been pretty much all term. Unfortunately.

If this tariff economic crash doesn’t make his foot-kissing followers break ranks, then nothing will, and it will be civil war.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don’t trust polls, and I’d recommend you don’t either. There is absolutely no way he has gained support since the election.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Not gained, just held steady. A lot of his supporters think he’s got some kind of master plan to make all the other countries grovel at our feet, and if they have to suffer nobly for the cause so be it.

I swear, Evangelical Christians just aren’t happy unless they’re miserable. Part of their persecution complex I suppose.

The folk showing up to the local range in militia gear tend to get ejected for not following the rules. If you can't so much as keep your gun pointed down range, you haven't got the discipline to go up against any military or conduct an insurgency.
