So I need help either understanding the limits of curve optimizer or how to do it properly on Asus BIOS or both.

I have a 9800X3D and the X870-A Motherboard. I can run 5.3GHz at a fixed Core voltage of 1.2 just fine. When doing this, OCCT reports the CPU as drawing 113W and the CPU temp levels at around 72C.

I am trying to replicate this removing the fixed voltage (and CPU multiplier), instead trying it via the curve optimizer, and I cannot seem to do it. I first tried doing an all cores offset of -20 in the curve optimizer, and it wound up drawing 130W per OCCT, the heat levels were much higher than the fixed core voltage approach, and it didn't boost above 5.1GHz.

Any idea what I could possibly be doing wrong? I am 100% new to this, so I know my understanding is probably way off on something. It also doesn't help that there are two PBO submenus in the BIOS (I was using the non-Ai Tweaker one).
