Good start but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for more.

My family is all in the States and told them I would not visiting for the foreseeable future and encouraged them to write their representatives about how their government's actions are affecting their family life.

Part of me thinks that many of those trips were pre-planned, but I'm sure fewer and fewer people will be going there during peak times throughout the year.

And also keep in mind that this was only between Canada and States border crossing. Our friends in the EU have also been boycotting travel to the states, so the impact is even greater.

this 100% plays a big role! friends of mine have a USA trip booked & paid for like 3 month now... they won't cancel - but they sure as hell would not book a new one.

We all hope for more but a 17% drop is no joke. Especially if it stays that way. But i'm not too optimistic

That's a 17% drop, mostly thanks to the orange manmade crisis. Good job Canadians holding our ground against travelling to the US. Keep it up.

Keep doing that. If you don't have to travel, don't. Especially for leisure.

I personally don't have the time in my life right now to go to the US, not have the correct paperwork depending on the mood of someone in charge, and ending up in a detention camp in Arizona for two weeks.

If only Trump was elected during covid and declared tariffs then. /s
