like the title says, is there a KVM switch that act like the "input switch" function on monitors other than the "disconnect" action?
I use my home PC and work laptop with 2 monitors, I use 1 of the monitor with the laptop, and everytime I click the KVM switch, it messes up the windows/folder placement on my PC.
As I understand most of the KVM switch on the market works as "disconnect HDMI 1, connect HDMI 2" which always mess up the desktop placement, and the toggle switch on the monitor works as "display HDMI 2 on monitor" which works for my usecase.
Use the default toggle switch on the back/buttom of the monitor works but it gets annoying after doing this a few times.
Dont know if there is any software solution for this, seems to me there are 2 workaround:
- A monitor with a external "input switch" where I can place the control next to the keyboard/mouse, I only know some BenQ PD monitors with this function by using the "hot key puck 2" controller, but they are expensive pro monitors with seems unnecessary
- A KVM switch that act like a default input switch rather than "dissconnect & connect"
So does such device exist? or are there any other monitors that can do this "one click switch" action?
Thx
