Summary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Donald Trump of living in a "Russian-made disinformation space" due to his administration's talks with Kremlin officials.

He urged Trump's team to be "more truthful" after Trump blamed Kyiv for the war and downplayed U.S. aid contributions.

Zelenskyy’s remarks came as U.S. envoy Keith Kellogg visited Kyiv amid shifting U.S. policy on Russia. Meanwhile, European leaders, feeling sidelined by U.S.-Russia talks, held emergency meetings.

Zelenskyy canceled a Saudi Arabia trip in protest.

It's the same false reality bubble that got Putin to think he could take Ukraine in 3 days, Same one that made Britain dipshits think Brexit was going to be a golden age and it was the opposite, and now Trump and his republican dumbfucks are under the same illusion that rewinding the clock to the late 1800s and trying to force this country to be a christian kingdom of conformity and idiocy will be a good thing long term and not spell the end of this place allowing China to finalize their technological power takeover and become the new pinnacle of influence on the planet. Wouldn't be surprised if all of these very priceless high level intel all roots from China.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Why China? Why not the billionaires in each of their own countries? The “Dark Gothic MAGA” doc is not just eye opening to what could be going on in the US, but for other countries under influence by a wealthy elite as well. I think China are able to quash these shadow movements since they maintain a large controller of their industrial sectors while also operating in the shadows. Because they have this control, I can see why we use them as a scapegoat. However, the ones with the most influence, the most accessibility, and the most to gain in the short term are the heads of industry. With the technological advancements of recent decades, those heads of industry can be found to be influencing the very means by which the people and therefore world leaders make decisions

Zelenskyy acting more like the character expected of an American president than the one who got elected to be America's President.

He urged Trump’s team to be “more truthful”

Trump responded by calling Zelensky a "dictator without elections", and suggested his ratings were low.

(for those curious: the Ukrainian law ~~constitution~~ prohibits electing a president during war, it's especially hard with 20% of the country under hostile control; and regarding Zelensky's rating, it's about 57% ~~70%~~ currently)

After that, some Republicans with a spine (Mike Pence, Don Bacon, Thom Tillis, Mike Rounds, John Kennedy, et al) also called out Trump to be more truthful.

If Elon is true to his word, he now has to give 100 M to politicians who oppose those Republicans in primaries. Because he threatened to beat anyone who badmouths his boss with his wallet.

A lot of Ukrainians have also fled the country, it makes no sense to organize this before ending the war. Why do we have to have this discussion? They are at war, marshal law is common during times of war to keep your country unified during these periods. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have vast oceans between them and their adversaries to allow for elections of their highest office to continue uninterrupted.

Because this isn't about fair elections, it's about getting a puppet government in charge who will just end the war freely by bending over for Russia. As if Putin and Trump actually care about fair elections... absolute clown show.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Right, and the puppet in charge will be rather obvious. The only other candidate that would win in a fair Ukrainian election is even more aggressive about opposing Russia than Zelenskyy, but since this is going to be rigged neither of those will win.

Why is the draft Dodger trying to start a war.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

Easy, he won't have to fight in it, and he figures he could make a shitload of money!

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 days ago

Yes, it's called the bank account of Russia... that's the disinformation space he's in. Just swimming in it. Filthy

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Zelenskyy is completely right on here.

[–] andrew_bidlaw 28 points 3 days ago (6 children)

He isn't, he is still polite to give Donnie a benefit of a doubt, like he is speaking like that because he's got malinformed. No, Trump uses his position to exchange Ukraine and the security of Europe for whatever he was promised or he himself promised beforehand for his success in pres campaign previosly, so he just closes his debts. Zelensky couldn't say that to Trump all other countries and his own nation are paper tokens he uses to play monopoly with his friends. Ukrainian defence depend too deeply on what Biden's given them before so as a diplomat he doesn't want to cross out the US even though he knows that with Trump they'd hardly get anything. And it's not about the US specifically, it's a standard that keeps every other donor comfortable to donate arms and money, setting the climate in which no random and immidiate decisions pass, unlike what Trump does.

America is living in a disinformation space. There is a reason Musk bought Twitter, and it's not because he thought he could make it better for users.

Also the reason why Saudis funded it. They want a piece of the post truth pie. But why did Elon even bother with the Saudi money? Is it as simple as wanting to keep the high score?

He paid $44 billion for twitter (of his and others' money) but the presidency of the richest country on earth only cost $250 million? It doesn't add up at all.

Trump is a russian marionette

[–] [email protected] 34 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Not just Russia's puppet. He'll let literally anyone stick their hand up his ass if they pay him.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 days ago (16 children)

Very handy that he has his own $Trump coin. Not a word of protest from conservatives.

Trump and Musk literally got regular phone mentoring on how to do what they're doing (shape and install an official Oligarchy). You don't need to create an information space when the participants are willingly taking direct lessons and coaching from Putin.

I don't get it. How will they sell to the people this total capitulation? I'm not American. As far as I'm informed people there don't like and don't trust Russia and Putin. Won't they see this deal and be like wtf?

[–] [email protected] 36 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There are people here who will tell you that they would trust the Russian government more than their neighbor, if their neighbor ever suggested that industry should be regulated.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I stopped being nice to those neighbors. Feed your own cats. No I'm not turning the music down. Get fucked traitors.

The most telling statistic about Russia's trustworthiness is that every single independent country that shares a border with Russia on the West has mandatory military service and those in the same region without a shared border with Russia don't.
